V,
I'd like to add, that I've had a number of e-mails with one of the bartenders that's moving over to Paris, and it will open on time! He's at the Sports book bar-aka Le bar du spor. LOL

Lee: Finally a new hotel opening on time! This must set some record considering the past year's new hotel grand opening delays.

According to the LVRJ, Paris is supposed to get their C of O either today or Monday, so it doesn't sound like there will be any hitches with opening on time.

Also I was reading that there will be an inside walkway between Bally's and Paris which will have several shops and a bar.
I wonder how long this walkway is if they can't do without having a bar <g>.
The walkway is going to be located across the casino from the show tickets booth.

Hi Lee and Veronica- This morning in my hometown newspaper (Richmond, VA) there was a full page article on Paris. It says there will be a walkway connecting Paris and Ballys. It talked about the training the hotel personnel received. They called it "french culture". I'm not sure what that means.......but I'm intrigued!!!

Carrie: Paris sure is advertising heavily, aren't they? The ads on tv must be costing a fortune since they are on so often. Of course Park Place Entertainment can afford it--they are using our lost gambling dollars to pay for all that advertising <g>.

Veronica-I agree it must be costing them big bucks!!!! but I guess folks like us are too curious to stay away. So I'm sure they will re-coup their $$$$ in a day or two <g>.

All,
That training course was a 3 week deal, and any employee that was moving over to Paris, was to take there vacations before the opening. As they told everyone, no vacations for the first 6 months of operations.

As for the size of the walk way between the 2 hotels, wern't they getting rid of the celibrity showroom to connect the to properties?

Lee: According to Paris, Bally's did take out the Celebrity Showroom to create the walkway.

I notice that when I call Paris Room Reservations, that there is never a wait to speak to an operator, while Caesars, Rio, and a few others have you on hold forever every phone call. Either Paris has LOTS of phone agents, or nobody is calling! Maybe Caesars and others only have a few phone agents?

Veronica,
As for the phone thing, you never can tell much by the wait for an operator. It really doesn't tell you much information, other then either they are short staffed or over staffed.
It (I would think) would be in the best intrest of Paris to over staff the phone lines. After all, we all know that first impressions (right or wrong) are a hard thing to beat.
Look at the way we met. I felt sooo sorry for you, you got a rotten seat at the Country Star Cafe (aside of us). <S> And your still talking to us! WOW LOL

How come I don't remember meeting Veronica that day? She's pretty hard to forget <bg>. And I was with Lee & Sue at the bar outside of the room most of the time. Where was Veronica then? You mean to tell me she kept a low profile that day?

Gail,
V, high tailed it after the meet, she was with her daughter and I think she was worried about us corrupting her. Then after the meet we all gathered at the bar and had our usuall extended mett! LOL
I can still recall John talking me into going inside and just meeting the guy who aranged the meet. I wasn't real keen on the idea, but went in anyway, and ended up sitting with V!

Lee, I just wanted to get you and Sue involved with everyone. It does seem amazing that V kept a low profile at that meet. I guess she was setting an example for Teri<G>

You guys are too much! This thread is the funniest thing I've read in a long time <lol>

Gail: I remember you and Sue leaving to go for a smoke. I think you had no choice--someone threw you out of the room for smoking <lol>.

John: The reason I left is because Teri was throwing daggers at me for dragging her to a meet!

Lee: You couldn't have been THAT overserved. You are remembering everything correctly <g>.

What a meet THAT was!

V and all, There must have been 50-60 people at that meet. I don't like these big meets. Too many people that you can't enjoy chatting with everyone. Besides, wasn't there commercial speakers at that meet which cut into what these meets were suppose to be all about?

I think Larry (the cook) and I sat with John & Joanne Blersch. John Sr., is my memory correct? Our company was enjoyable whoever it was.

I was not planning to go to this meet but John C. begged me. I don't think John C. and I had met yet. John C. is such a peacemaker. I had to make him happy by making an appearance <bg>.

I think the room was a smoking room until one group from Florida came in. The lady had oxygen (emphysema) and asked the management to make the room non-smoking.

Sue and I didn't realize that the room at all of a sudden become a non-smoking room so we were using (I think) the butter dish as an ashtray! Oh, good grief <g>.

Gail: I remember that it was a pretty big turnout at that one. Yup, you're right--there was a speaker. Boy, I remember plenty of us were ticked about that. Walt and Teri cursed me good! I'm not sure if they have gotten over it yet <g>.

We were in the Elvis Room, remember?

Gail, Sorry that I drug you to that meet<G> I was hoping for the best. But the speaker killed any hopes I had of a good meet. That's something we should put into the talkvegas rules. No speakers at TalkVegas meets<G>
Also, no tying balloons onto attendees<G>
