   LV Entertainment Book
   LV Entertainment Book
Ok, I hope someone here can help me out.
The current Las Vegas Entertainment book expires on Nov 1st. My hometown book expires on Nov. 30th. So I'm thinking the new 2000 Entertainment book premires sooner in LV then mine does at home too.
Anyone know about what date they will be out?
Reason for asking....I use the Continental Airlines coupons inside the book. I'm looking at Febuary travel already, and I want to get my hands on one of those coupons for 2000 as soon as possible.
If anyone knows of another entertainment book that comes out sooner, I'll buy that one just for those CO coupons!
If they are the same as this years, I stand to save $90 per ticket with them, and I will need to buy atleast 4, maybe as many as 7 tickets, so you see the savings is quite a bit.

Lee, a friend of mine mentioned that she is selling the LV Entertainment book and it will be available the end of next week. If you would like me to pick one up for you I will and I will send it to you. The profit goes to the Federation of Jewish Women, I believe.

Blossom,
Thanks! I know a lot of organazations sell those books to drum up money for thier cause. Are you sure it's not too much trouble? I hate to put anyone out.
If not, e-mail me your address, and who to make the check out too & amount. I'll send a return shipping envelope with postage, already made out with my address on it?
How does that sound to you as a plan? But only if you don't mind!

Lee, You're right most local organizations are selling the book. If you know of one in your community they can order the las vegas book for you and have the book shipped to you at no additional cost. What's good about doing it through your local organization is that they get credit for the sale (they make $6 per book). Gene and I have ordered books for NY, FL,LV we give them as christmas gifts. The company that does the book is Entertainment Publications. You could probably look their number up in your local phone book and call them to find out who in your community is selling the book. Hope this helps.

Carrie,
I've done it this way in the past, but, I've also waited 8 weeks for the darn thing to arrive. It seems that going directly to the area, where the book is for seems to getthe fastest results.
Speed is what I'm after here as I'd like to nail down my CO tickets before too much time passes.
Thanks for the information, just in this case it won't be the best deal for me.

Lee, if you read the fine print on the Continental coupons you will see that they are only good for a small discount when flying out of Cleveland like I do. Also, they are not valid on Q class, which is the cheapest airfare. And, the travel agents won't honor them anymore since they have had trouble usuing the coupons. So, for us to use them, I have to go to the airport and make my reservation.
It seems that Continental has done all they can to make those coupons useless in the Cleveland market.

John,
Cleveland & Houston markets stink for those coupons.
I make my reservations through CO's office, then either I send them the coupons and they send me the tickets or send Sandy-PA out to Harrisburg with the coupons to pick up the tickets. I don't use a travel agent anymore for anything to do with Las Vegas. I've recently had a very bad experiance with obnoxious travel agents on another service, and now won't spend a dime with them and help line thier pockets. <VBG>
