Any hints on who or what is going to be taking up some of that new retail space? The M&M store, Coke store and the All Star cafe are quite differnt as far as stores go. I'm hoping that the new tenets are as interesting!

Lee: You'll be pretty disappointed right now with the reported future tenants of the new expanded mall. The Grand Canyon project will share the expanded mall space (44,000 sq. ft) with Sephora, an upscale beauty product retailer, and a third as yet unnamed tenant.

The Grand Canyon retail products for sale will include gifts reflecting Southwest and Las Vegas themes. That sounds like it will be your basic souvenir/junk shop. [img]http://www.talkvegas.com/ubb/frown.gif[/img]

What's the All-Star Cafe like? Is the food any good?

If I remember correctly, there is a fancy beauty products store right beside Venetian. I walked in thinking that they would have men's products as well but I couldn't find any lipstick that matched my outfit. But I was wondering if it is the same group or will they just be opening another store?

The All Star Cafe, is another excuse to sell $8 hamburgers, while watching video snipettes of sports on monators. They do however make a mean "Cuban" sandwich. The place has always been stone dead when I've visited.
This probably belongs in dinning! YIKES!

Lee, What is a Cuban Sandwich? I've never heard of that one.
There are a few Cuban restaurants in Las Vegas. I think there is one on Las Vegas Blvd between the strip and downtown that is a family owned place that has authentic Cuban food. I would like to know what is in a Cuban Sandwich.

This is gonna sound real stupid, but I am trying to remember, and the only thing that I'm sure of is it has sliced pickles and saled dressing in it! There is meat & cheese, but for the life of me, I can't remember what kind! I guess, I now have another excuse to visit the place!
Also, another place that used to sell a good cuban sandwich was a place called "butchy's" at the Chicago airport. But they moved into a food court and there menu has changed. So I would bet that was one of the items to go.

A Cuban friend said that the meat in the sandwich is seasoned pork and goat. I ate one awhile back and it was pretty good.

Am I correct that the All Star cafe is owned by the same people as Planet Hollywood. If this is correct, this place could be one of the reasons the PH is in bankruptsey. <SP?>

Again, I'd put this in the over priced meal catagory and pass on it.

Actually, goat isn't bad. We've had it in several countries we've visited. At first we felt the same as you. But Goat is a farm animal, no worse then eating cow, or pig.
Now dog, I woundn't eat, but cat, I'm sure I've eaten my share of that already.

Lee: I had to look up who started All Star Cafe because I wasn't sure either. It was started by Monica Seles, Tiger Woods, Andre Agassi, Shaquille O'Neal, Wayne Gretzky, and Ken Griffey Jr.

Planet Hollywood was founded by Arnold S., Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Sylvester Stallone, and maybe someone else thrown in there.

Well V,
Give them time and they'll be in the same spot as Planet Hollywod! Everytime we go past the place it's at best 1/2 full.
