Three cocktail goddesses from Caesars Palace, inspired by the Millennium, created a millennium drink that will be served at the famed resort on New Year's Eve, 1999. The millennium drink competition was organized by Caesars Palace Beverage Manager Glynda Jenkins, who challenged her staff to design a drink worthy of the new century. The reward: A day off with pay and a $100 gift certificate for use in Caesars shops. Juanita Newhouse was creating the drink by herself when she asked her fellow goddess, Linda Ervolino and Tamara Hickmann, to taste it. Their reaction: "Not quite ready for prime-time Millennium." The three put their heads together, came up with a new recipe, and submitted it within minutes to spare of the contest deadline and won. The judge choose their drink, named "Y2Kaos," and since the three of them collaborated on it, all three were awarded a paid vacation day and $100 in gift certificates. Caesars Palace is planning to serve the drink in special souvenir vessels, priced at $6.75 and in a millennium cup and $10.75 in a Caesars column.
