At my old house, the cats used to jump on the deck railing, then climb on top of the 8' fence around back, then jump over on the roof of the house. They crossed over the roof to the front of the house and then would wait for us to come home so they could stare at us. Now I didn't train them to do this by putting food on the roof, nor did I train them to ring the doorbell so that we would go to see who was there. They did this on their own.
I definitely don't believe in making animals suffer, but some people want animals to be treated better than the street people. So far to me, animals are still on the lower end of the food chain, but I draw the line on anything that has eaten out of an Alpo can.
I don't know if anyone can confirm this, but my son mentioned that a hacker had gotten onto the PETA webpage and changed it to, People Eating Tasty Animals.
I can see them protesting against fur coats, since there are lots of other materials that can be used. Now I'm waiting for someone to fuss about the defenseless cotton plants that gave their life so I can have clean underwear and socks.
