According to an article in the Las Vegas Sun, construction on all 2600 hotel rooms will be complete when the Aladdin opens on August 17th, but just 1500 will be available for occupancy. Full operation will be phased in over several days to break in the hotel staff. The 7000-seat Theatre for the Performing Arts will open on August 19th. The main casino is 100,000 square feet with 2800 slot machines and 87 table games ..there will be a separate 30,000 square foot European-style casino. It looks like only 6 of the restaurants will be open, but there are 21 planned, and PF Changs will have a 2-story restaurant in the casino.

I'm impressed by the hotel claim that no room will be more than 7 doors away from an elevator. Guests checking in will not have to travel through the casino with their luggage; there are two elevator banks directly off the lobby.

The rooms are shown on the Aladdin's web site and look rather nice. They feature marble baths, with separate soaking tub & shower and private water closets. Each room will be equipped with two phones (one is cordless), high speed Internet access and a desk. There is a 30,000 square foot spa and two outdoor swimming pools on a sixth floor terrace. I checked room rates for September; weekdays were $139 and weekends were $229.
