In-as-much as we had members last year who wanted to attend our Thanksgiving meet but for one reason or another was unable to do so, I thought that maybe sufficient advance planning would enable members to prepare and plan for this years meet. Therefore, the following is submitted for your consideration and/or comments: a. Date and time: 27 Nov, 2002, 3 pm; b. Place: Irish Pub,Orleans (this proved to be a neat place last year) Should this be acceptable to a large number of members, a head count will be requested later on this year. Comments please. Not another one of those Talk Vegas meets with a bunch of people that don't have a life outside of their computers and going to Vegas. And at an Irish pub where we are forced to drink Guinness & Bodington's and tell wild stories, sometimes BS stories. Looks like I'll be forced to drag my ass down there again and see all you fine folks.

Well, I know that THIS year we are going to stay longer.............we STILL don't know all the good stuff that went on LAST year, but it sounded VERRRRRRY Interesting!

Thanks Lee, all kudos are graciously accepted - I hope to get in a couple of more trips prior to Thanksgiving (March and July) - we did have a good time last year, didn't we? Am hoping that if members know sufficiently in advance that we will have a meet Thanksgiving, we will have more attending than last year. Wendell

This is a great idea! I remember some of the early meets I went to, I was planning my trips around meeting certin people from the old Prodigy BB. It is fun to put faces with the names. It's also nice to meet and chat and not have to type every word out on the blasted computer.
I doubt I'll be staying at the Orleans however, and that was what helped make the week fun too. We kept running into talkvegas'ers the whole time we where there! Now the Orleans could ply me with $29 a nite rooms again, then I'm there! <S>

DAG....Have you marked your calander and started making your reservations? You've been given plenty of notice this year buddy, no excuses, we want to see you on the 27th.

it killed me not being there last year,not meeting old friends and not meeting new friends but i work for a school district and my time off is when school is out.but i'm working on it.i get 12 sick days,12 holidays,2personal days,xmas break,winter break,spring break,and 2 months off in the summer.sounds great but at tg only friday off.for now i'll be in vegas 4/14--4/18,7/1--7/5 and i think i feel a sore throat coming on about 11/24--11/29 or i'll fly down for the meet,party all nite,and someone can pour me on a plane in the morning.

I agree with Lee about the $29 Orleans rate. If they repeat the $29/$42 prices again this Nov. it's a definite possibility for me.

What rate did you get for over Thanksgiving & the weekend following? I checked out because they quoted me a fairly higher price for those days. I can't remember what it was however. Ended up finishing the trip at the Nugget downtown.

I'm already planning ahead and will be there this year!! (I'm surprised Thanksgiving is so late!) I really look forward to meeting you all!

That's easy! The Irish pub at 3pm is empty except for the loud group of tables all the way in the back (us). LOL
However, Wendell made up talkvegas pins for us all to wear. So that would be one way, another way is to look for the Yellow Roses! The guy who organizes these thanksgiving meets has a thing for Yellow Roses, and handed them out to all the ladies......secretly I think he was hitting on my wife
We are not a hard group to spot. Normally the moderators are wearing TalkVegas shirts, last year, Daisy had magnetic bumper stickers to hand out and talkvegas calenders where there too. So our stuff was all over the place!
One other way...ask the Bartender. It doesn't take too long for a tender to know us! <VBG>

Mike....exactly what Lee said, I had no problem finding this group last November. There were only two groups in the pub, the TalkVegas bunch and the cuban cigar girls, I think anyone can tell the difference. And you'll know Lee, he'll be the only nut wearing a different color TalkVegas shirt. :p

Hey Ralph....No one phoned me, and shared the information that we where all supposed to dress alike. Besides, being differnt doesn't bother me, I sort of live for that!

Orleans' web site is currently quoting $40 for 2 queens and $50 for a king that week.

Wendell, I've been everywhere from Sacramento to Yosemite in the past week but right now, I'm sitting at my desk at home and LMAO! You know I'll be there for Wendell's SECOND ANNUAL THANKSGIVING MEET. I wouldn't miss this collection of comedians for anything<g>.
