Actually Lee changing water levels can be the pitfall of owning a boat anywhere. When we take the boat to San Diego, the boat is our hotel while we are there. There are times I wake up in the morning 10-15 lower than when I went to bed. Changing ocean tides can really be fun if you're not careful.
IMHO....The pitfall of owning a boat in the desert is the summer heat. Without A/C...July and August are hell out here, but we make up for it by having a 12 month boating season. I'll put up with the summer heat for that. We don't even know how to winterize our boats around here, we just start 'em up and use 'em all year long.
