Robbery, Shots & Casino Noise Level
Robbery, Shots & Casino Noise Level
Suspect in a Boulder Station robbery was killed after shooting an employee. According to the reports, the individual starting shooting randomly at anything that moved.

After thinking about the above and other similar incidents, one could be concerned about visiting many A.C. casinos. The noise level is sooooooooooooo high in many of them that no one would ever hear a shot ring out. That includes, employees, security, customers or anyone!!!!!! Sometimes there are as many as three different songs being played over the loud speakers........plus the ringing of the bells......plus the normal casino noises. Add to that the bandstand groups at Showboat(which are pleasant to the ears if all other "music noise" was turned off. I have resorted to using earplugs in many of the A.C. casinos just so I do not become one of the hearing impaired.

I have not found this to be a problem for me in the LV casinos. How about the rest of you? Yes, I know several have noted the music noise level at the Palms. What about others?

This is probably something that customers should notate on the "guest comment cards", when available.

Beth: There was a brief comment on CNN concerning the above. however; details have been rather sketchy. The noise level in LV Casinos has never bothered me (except for the dueling pianos in NY NY.) Wendell

Beth,
I've never really had a noise problem in LV, but your correct, AC is very loud inside the casinos. Probably all for the best, I don't hear what is going on around me inside AC! LOL

Any more information on the shooting, or a place where I can find more myself?

Wow, I wish I knew what casinos in AC have all the noise! We stopped even going to AC because it is like going to a funeral convention. There are hardly any people yelling or clapping like in Vegas, everyone has a sully look on their face both employees and customers, and we are surprised each time we've gone how QUIET it is. So boring and dull. When in Vegas, we see people having fun and laughing - just never see it in AC. Must be those tiny, dinky drinks they give you in AC compared to the full size drinks in Vegas.

Itch,
I only visit AC on a weekend and places like the Claridge are very noisy. But not so much from people winning, as the machines volume is turned up quite high on many of the machines, then the day trippers have to yell to talk over the clatter. Showboat is another one that gets quite loud when the band is playing.
Got a day trip myself planned for this coming weekend to AC, it's been awhile since my last trip, but I'm sure, I'll hate it, like I always do.
I just can't avoid comparing it to Las Vegas and being disapointed everytime.
