Million dollar Turnberry views go sour!

Some of the luxury condo apartments in the south-west corner of the Turnberry Condominium now have a view of the inside of a parking structure or a blank concrete wall only about 50 feet away (or less) thanks to the construction of the Fountainbleu Hotel and Casino.

At least that's the way I saw it while driving past the Turnberry a couple of weeks ago.

I tend to believe that those apartments with this new flat to your face "parking structure views" have decreased in value dramatically and possibly impossible to even sell at any price.

How much would you pay for a one bedroom Turnberry apartment that looked directly into a parking stall or a blank concrete wall?

I might consider $5,000 but not much more!

Most of those "were" half million dollar views. There was a big stink last year when the Turnberry occupants saw the plans. The Fountainbleu tower(s) will distroy many more breathtaking views.

JMT, do you know if any of those blocked view units have been offered for sale lately and what is the asking price.

Do you have any idea what they may be worth today or what they are actually selling for?

The short answer is that I don't know of any bargains just yet. The "turmoil" over Turnberry and FB is still raging. And it's not just the towers within feet of the parking garage. Turnberry was set up so everyone could have a view. Even the tower closest to the Sahara and Paradise road could get a good view of the strip on a lower floor. Not now.

I know that Turnberry Place is sold out of new units. They do have a website that lists resales among other things. It doesn't address the turmoil. Right now, the cheapest ressale is about half a mil. Somewhere on the website is a map, and you could plot a specific tower and room number and figure it out if you so desired. If you do a websearch, remember that Turberry Place is what has been around for a while. Turnberry Towers is the twin towers and newer condos on the east side of Paradise.

I know something recently sold in the Harmon Hotel & Spa (City Center) for $2400 per sq ft.


Here's something you can tell your valet. The new buzz word in Vegas real estate....condotel. A condo that you can buy and rent out nightly when you are not there. The Palms Place is full of them, as is Trump and many others that are existing and in progress.

I have heard that there is a law suit by some of the Turnbdrry residents against the builder. It will be interesting to see what happens........
