Ok, Brace yourself! I'm going to have to post this in sections, as the night never allows me enough time to type out the whole thing in one shot. Besides, arn't there some internet laws on how many typo's you can print in a 24hr period? OK, Here goes, Please hold all replys till I'm finished posting. You'll know when I'm done, I'll say...Hey I'm finally done now!" LOL
Flying United out of Harrisburg, (first time I'm flying them by choice) with a stop in Chicago. Both flights leave the gate 1 hr late. the second late flight also sits on the runway for an additional hour before take-off. We arrive in LV 2 hrs late, we gather our bags and go right to Harrah's to pick up our rental car at 3:15pm (the place closes at 3:30pm. I leave Sue & Sandy with the bags at Harrah's valet. Hertz rental Toyota Camery for 8 full days with tax $220. I go fetch the car on the 6th floor of the parking garage, when I bring the car down the two of them are talking to police and he's writing stuff down.....Oh boy! I'm faced with a delema....should I just continue on my way as though I have no idea who these women are. Or should I stop and pick them up and actually have clean clothes to wear for 8 days...ok, I stop. I ask what the problem is? Seems some drunk that was droped off at Harrah's fell down and dented a nice red SUV that was droped off for Valet, and Sue & Sandy Piped up as witnesses. Didn't I teach you anything, I scream! Low profile....you didn't see nothing! Nice big dent though on the SUV. The Valet guys where trying to sweep it under the rug, but not Sue & Sandy, They are witnesses! After some name & address taking (I'm sure it was swept under the rug anyway) we where on our way to the Flamingo. We check-in to find our girl hasn't been in the Hilton for a few weeks, she's over training people at Paris, this may turn out to be a blessing in discise, as Paris may be a future option for us. So we get stuck in a Regular room the the crummy tower. The one with the views of O'Shea's parking lot. Although, we lucked out and got the penguin side of the tower. Sue kept calling them her little buddies. The first time she asked if her little buddy was out today, (as I was looking down at the pool) I wasn't quite sure what she was talking about! LOL Up to Vacation village for the Free Airfare spin (this always costs a bundle) Sandy & I win a Dollar, and Sue's the big winner a Fiver for her. Here's where you learn your not on the strip at VV. Sandy's playing $5 chips on the outside the other player using his color, places his chips on top of hers, then removes his winning bet and tries to take my sisters $5 chips with his color! The guy was smooth, Sandy ain't no sucker, and lets him have it with both barrels! The Pit or dealer never blink an eye, or say a word. The Clientel is getting worse up there, more to come on this matter on our second visit to VV later in the report. Down to Sahara for a good long session, but the 5play VP eat Sue & I alive. We eat dinner at the Flamingo Room (Yuck-Gag-PeeYou), this will be one of many bad meals for the trip. Flamingo Garden Bar for the rest of the evening VP till 1am. I joke on the way up to the room that I'm a winner for the day. I have exactly $1 more in my wallet then I started with. Sue reminds me that it's VV's dollar that put me over the edge! We both laugh, I make a mental note that she'll have to pay for that remark! LOL Sunday....(already, I just shut my eyes) We meet Sandy and out to the Reserve for breakfast in the coffee shop and we hit the poker machines, Sandt the Roulette, you'll see a trend here. This is the common spliting when we enter the casino. After Reserve has enough of my money, I figure I owe this BB a true read on "Jokers Wild Shrimp cocktail" (so we stop in) It's bigger, there are a heap of those tiny saled shrimp in that cup, but no flavor at all. Seems these shrimp must have been swimming in that water belly-up for awhile. it was like eating styrofoam in little tiny shrimp shapes. Bad, don't do the drive for this one!!!! Then Main Street Station for the TalkVegas meet. Layne did a great job on discribing the meet, so I'll Just add, we had a great time, but never enough! Layne, Good Luck with you know who! Gail & Joe, we all thought you stood us up! Late is still better then never! I'll repete what I said many times before, I like the smaller meets best! If your in Vegas when a TalkVegas meet is happening......stop on by. You won't be sorry, there is a great group of people on here! See you all again in October in 2 weeks! I'm looking forward to it! Gambled at MSS then Flamingo Hilton and we (Sue & I) slithered down to Harrah's to visit some other bartender friends. Sue fell asleep at the bar, thought I'd have to carry her home. Thank goodness we made it back up to the Flamingo and to our room. One more reason that the Garden Bar Rules, it's close to our room! To be Continued!.......

Continued....
Ok, I already left out a few very important things on my TR. #1 about 1/2 hr into my ride to the airport, I discover I forgot a watch, no biggie I say to myself. #2 At the Start of Day #2 I discover, I only brought about 1/2 the shirts I will need for this trip! Seems I took packing for the trip a little too lightly. Been going so often lately the packing has become a part I seem to have taken for granted! I vow to be better next time.....
Monday, Oh...this is the roughest morning I've had and will have for the rest of the trip. My stomach feels like I got 2 cats in my belly and they want to fight! So I have a in-room breakfast of warm rootbeer (from the night before, flat ofcourse) and 1 pop-tart. This is not a good idea, and does nothing for my aching head or stomach. We meet Sandy and elect to go to Summerlin for the Buffet. I swallow hard and get the car. I get lost on the way. I stop for directions (but secretly I would have driven around aimlessly for a couple of hours, but I needed a soda bad. I choose something called Squirt (follow me here) It's a grapfruit carbonated soda. Don't drink this if you have an upset stomach!!! It will only make you feel worse, trust me! I got some instructions, and out the door I went, drinking big gulps. I'm still lost, but now I feel worse then before. So again I stop at a mini mart for instructions (this time to get some chips) OK lets recap here.....1 pop-tart, 8oz warm flat stale rootbeer, 1 20oz grapfruit soda, 1/2 bag lay's ruffles potato chips, on an already upset stomach...and we're going to a Buffet...Yippie! We finally arrive at Summerlin. The place is beautiful! The Buffet area is nice clean & orderly. i walk up to the buffet, and feel a sudden urge to blow chow, I swallow big & hard, and throw some cold seafood on my plate and sit down. Sue which has been a rock up till this point leaves her plate behind and runs the the restroom! (she had the same breakfast as I did earlier) She returns to the table white as a ghost and shaking. We all settle down sipping cokes and nibbling on food. It's a shame we both felt bad, the food looked good & fresh, service was great, and I could have done some serious damage to the pealed cold shrimp & crab claws if I was in better spirits. The steam table food was presented in much smalled amounts then most buffets, so it was much fresher looking. The Lamb chop I did try and it was excelent. We gambled a little, Sandy & I tried our luck at the single ) roulette wheel. Sandy did much better then I did. The cocktail waitress help out with stuff like coin jams and minor slot stuff. I was suprised when my cocktail server put down her tray and opened my machin and said "yup you need a fill" I'll get someone for you! WoW, this plac eis alright. BTW, that hair of the dog thing works!!! Then out the door we all went. Strat was the next stop. I finally signed up for the slot card and received 2 cloth hats i'll never wear. But I took them just the same! LOL Sahara next stop, then to Silver City for a chip or 2 for my rag-tag collection. The $1 chips are worn hard, in very bad shape. However the 5's are just great! Took Sandy back to the Flamingo and dropped her off. Sue & I got our second wind and headed downtown to the Cali & MSS. Drove up the strip late at night back to Flamingo. What a nice drive at 3am after the weekend crowds have gone. Tuesday, Breakfast at Ellis Island, suprised at the quality here. It's an old coffee shop, well worn, but the food was great. Waiters carry around mini hand held computers and punch in your order at the table. Tried the Micro Brew, didn't care for it. Cocktail waitress seemed to have a slight attitude problem. But I tipped her a buck and then she wouldn't go away. They are running a promotion for all Paris employees, they drink free after there shift by showing there casino identifacation cards. To be continued.......

Continued.... We now head for Paris.....oh...at first sight it looks pretty nice. But the casino employee's where ill prepared for such an onslought of people. The machines rows are too close togeather. So it makes it hard to move around in some spots. Not to mention it makes the cocktail waitresses & slot personals job harder too. I understand that some of the servers quit because they couldn't handle the coblestone walkways in the shoes that where issued them. There where a lot of emergancy fill ins from Flamingo/Bally's/Las Vegas Hilton. Also a note here, if they are going to wear hantyhose with those cocktail outfits then either the cotten crotch should be positioned properly and well hid by the uniform, or maybe they ought to go to tights instead. My wife insisted I was a pig for noticing! I seen no full pay VP,and the slots where not kind to Sandy or Sue. I waited over 45 min. for a slot fill. I didn't really win anything, I just wanted to cash-out, as i felt I lost enough in Paris at that time. 2 1/2 hrs. in the casino and was only offerd cocktails one time. The crowds reminded us of NY NY and people just gawking and clogging the few clear walkways. The place is heavely themed, and looks nice enough to the eye though, (just like NY NY). But that doesn't insight me to gamble. A fair game does that. Out the door to Harrah's and then up to the Flamingo for dinner at Lindy's (not great), but it was food. Then down to Sahara. I like this place, but the low staks are inviting to the riff-raff, and security is kept busy, and a few of the coin personal where having a tough time with some of the customers. Back to the Hilton for a night cap and to bed. These late nights, are catching up with us, I guess it's age. Bed by midnight. Wednesday, Woke up early and hit the Barbary Coast around 8:30am hoping to catch some people from the old BB, but no luck. Either finding them, or at the tables and VP. I played PiaGow poker at $10 a hand, I lost or tied every hand till a 100 was gone and never won a hand! I figured it was time to move on. Met Sandy for lunch at PF Changs. There was a line waiting outside for them to open! WoW, I guess they are quite popular. BTW, the new PF Changs is now open out Summerlin way. Great food & service, we all enjoy this place! Sandy picked up the check....so it was even better! LOL Out to the Orleans, Wild wild West, Gold Coast...loose, loose, loose. stoped in breifly to see what if anything has been done to the old Frontier, nothing except a new coat of grime seems to be added to the joint. Las Vegas Hilton for dinner at Quarks. These people take the Star trek thing way to seriously. I didn't have a waitress.....we had an ambasator! The costumed space people walking around the place I found obnoxious, and out of place for a resturant that serves booze. The food was fine, I had a $10 Cheese Borgger...I guess space food is expencive! The bar special effects are cute. Then the Sahara and then droped Sandy off at the Flamingo and Sue and I headed down to MSS till 5am.. We missed the Garden bar! :0

Continued.....
Thursday, Sandy doesn't feel well, and she can barely talk. We walk her down to the IP for treatment and leave her there. We plan on meeting later for dinner if she's feeling better. We eat lunch at the O'Shea's Burger King, Blah! Then head to Barbary coast for a VP game called A's with out faces. On the inatial deal, if your delt an ace or aces you get a bonus if there are no J's, K's, Q's in the same deal. If there are only an ace's it spits out a bonus payout right there. You don't have to keep the A's in your hand, you can discard them after your paid off! <s> This was an interesting little game. This is the only place I've seen it so far too. Then out to SunSet Station for the afternoon. I had many quads on the 10 play machines that kept me out of trouble for the day! Then back to the strip to Paris to meet up with an old Bartender friend, now working at the Paris Sports bar. The selection of good french beers and fine single malt scotch seems to be a winner here. I'm not a wine person, so others will have to report on that situation. We played the dollar VP there and had quite a run, for an hours worth of play. Didn't hit anything big, but we got many beers out of it! LOL Bartenders told us that the machines have been paying out well. Down side of this bar is, it opens way too early 7am and closes way to early 11pm. Met up with Sandy, she's still not feeling super, so we have dinner at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris, great meal described under the dinning forum. Then Sandy went back to the Flamingo, still not 100%. We took off for the Orleans and then Main Street Station. While parking at MSS (the valet guys now know us by name) we learned some intresting facts about Valet. Some people only tip when they drop off, some only when the pick-up and some never, and still some, like us (we are informed tip pick-up & drop-off) They mentioned they need more customers like us. We laugh and go on inside. Start over at the Cali 2nd floor bar tops and have an amazing run for 20 bucks. Then around 11pm settle in at MSS for dinner at the Brew Pub and gambling at the brass bar. Bartenders are very friendly here (read, understand the way tips work) LOL! After a couple hours Sue & I slide out into the Casino and try the Triple play nickle machines. Sue is delt 4 J's on her second hand so she keeps all 3 of them....nice! then about 5 hands later draws to a Royal! The cocktail waitress is coming around way too often. (I have the beers lined up like airplanes wiating to taxi down the runway. Change girl & even the clean-up guy are hanging around asking if there is anything he can do for us! I guess it was a slow night and they found out that we tip! LOL. Anyway at about 3am the janator comes up to ua and asks if either of us needs to streach our legs a bit? Seems someone left some credits on a machine and he's not allowed to collect it. So he shows me where it is, I tell him we're partners on any winnings, and play it off. No Luck, but he's happy, he said atleast we had a shot! I give him a $2 bill and say thanks. Change lady gives us the low down on Boyd, and how they have to go to happy school a couple times a year. It's a 2hr reminder course, to be happy and helpful and smile. I mentioned there are a few in the Boyd group, that need more then 2hrs. of training in that area. She laughs and agrees. <S> We leave for Flamingo and the MSS bartender says goodby to us by name! Yikes! In bed by 6am, as the sun starts to rise. Friday, 11am.....already? Time to meet Sandy. She's feeling better! So we deceid to have Breakfast at the Desert Inn. $40 for breakfast for the 3 of us, but we all agree it was good! Then my wife spots a dimond braclet she "just wants to show me", because it's so differnt & neat. Lets just say, breakfast was very expencive at the DI. Then we sign up for the DI's slot club, and Sue hits for a C note and she's ready to leave. I don't argue, I've lost enough money in the DI! LOL Sandy hated the gambling, and won't be rushing back. It had a bad feel about the place she said, and I'm afraid I'd have to agree. Slot players where not what this place ever was about, nor will it ever be. The Sahara is next. This is Sandy's favorite roulette joint, and I like the Pia Gow Poker dealers here as well. The house rules seem to be some of the most beatable I've incountered on the strip, or anywhere for that matter. Then we all go down to MSS brew pub for dinner. More VP at the Cali & MSS then up to the Flamingo to drop Sandy off. We go to the Barbary Coast to meet up with a couple of bartenders from Paris, and they try to persuade us down to Ellis Island for free drinks at 2am, we decline. Flamingo Garden bar for a nightcap, and to bed we go.

Continued, Saturday, Our last full day, it's sort of a sad day and no one really wants it to end. We start out at the Key Largo for breakfast. Sue hits a 4 number bet on Keno for $125. and I have a little trouble cashing the ticket. Seems that's a pretty big win for that place! wow! I was begining to feel guilty that they'd have to lay someone off to cover the winning ticket. Breakfast was outstanding. Then Orleans, and Sahara, around 5pm everyone was getting hungary and Sandy suggests good ole Vacation Village for hot dogs w/$10 buy in. So off we go. My free hot dogs cost me $50 and Sandy gets lucky with a 4 of a kind and it's the number of the day too! ********NOW SKIP THIS NEXT PARGRAPH IF YOUR FAINT OF HEART********* I get board and sit down at a nickel monoply machine. You know the ones, with those nice cloth seats. Well, I sit down on a wet seat, but it's not water or beer. That's right, some one before me was a little late in making it to the bathroom. I now feel sick to my stomach and need to go shower. We all head back to the Flamingo. Sandy goes her way, Sue hits the machines and I hit the shower. Later I talk to Tom the Bartender and he say's you got to learn to expect that if I'm going to go to the seeder places. He's seen it happen a few times at some of the low spots. I find the whole thing unbeleiable and I'm the one who sat in it. No more cloth seats for me in the low life places for me! Sue and I say goodby and goodnight to the Garden bartenders, and head down to MSS & the California. The place is packed. Haiwai must be empty this weekend, because the Cali & MSS has them all! Young too, not a crowd we want to hang with, so back to Flamingo and call it a night. Sunday, The day we've been dreading, our trip home. I play a little on an Whie Hot aces machine and hit the ace's and it's time for us to leave. No bumps on the way home, it's a 3 legger of a flight home and the first 2 are perfect. However in Chicago, our flight is delayed for almost 4 hr's, then we sit in the airplane for almost another hour after we pull away from the gate, before taking off. We arrive home at 5am Monday from our flight from h*LL. Now, I'm done......finally! ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

A few things I forgot..... 1. they are playing roullette at Paris with the french rouleete chips, and they don't stack well. Seems the chips have rounded edges and the dealers are having fits with them. My recomondation for chip collecters is to snag some of these, as I expect them to be taken out of circulation soon. 2. Big E poker, Blossom and a few others where so right. This is a slow and teidious game. Should be called big F poker, because that's the grade it gets from me (F=Failing) 3. VP machines that seemed hot this trip. a. Paris dollar machines at the sports bar b. MSS Brass bar near the cocktail server station c. California 2nd floor bar Treasure Chest machines (quarter only) d. Bugsy's bar upfront at the Flamingo (quarters only) 4. Meeting people in Las Vegas. If your out when someone from the BB is out, arrange a meet. I always have a blast at these. Gail, Joe, and Layne, it was nice to see you all again. 5. Watch where you sit!!!! 6. United was not a great choise of airlines out of Harrisburg this trip. Prices out of Harrisburg have risen lately and Philidelphia's have dropped. So my February trip will probably leave out of Philly. (National has something to do with the price drop, I'm sure) 7. Hertz is still #1 with me out of Harrah's 8. I leave again in 11 days and I'm ready for a vacation! Thanks for taking the time to read this book I just finished. The next TR I promiss it will be shorter! ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

Pam, Paris is about a 50/50 rating, your right. Now after the crowds thin, that alone could pump up it's rating in my eyes. There's going to be some fine tuning in the next few months, I'm sure. I will go back to Paris though, even if I hated the place. A few old friends work there, so I'll be stopping back from time to time. I've been in the Holly Cow, but it's been a few years. I recall the food was pretty good, but as I recall not much action in the joint. Guess I should stumble accross the street and check it out again. As for the way the 5 times & 10 times machines play, I feel there is some bias on those machines. I'm not the only one either. Sue won't play any of them and only the older triple play ones too. (the ones where the hold buttons don't 100% line up with the cards on the screen) We have also heard other grousings about the machines from fellow players too. Glad you enjoyed the report, I got a bit windy on this one. ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

David F. Thanks for taking the time to read my report. It got quite long.....too long I feel, so I did cut short some of the comments. One of them was the Pia Gow story. I never lost like that at the game and while it is possible, I felt it was a pretty long odds type of thing. I was reaching for another saw buck, when the dealer shook his head NO, so if figured if the dealer felt this way, maybe I should just leave and forget about it! LOL I have had some great wins at Pia Gow Poker, but you have to sit and sort of grind it out. You have to bank, and you must be getting hands. None of this was happening at the Barbary that morning. Thanks again for reading my book! LOL ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

JohnSr, I would beleive all of those stories John, now! You know I seen it one other time in AC, a man not wanting to give up his slot machine and this happening while standing. I couldn't beleive it then and it's hard to beleive it now. You can bet, I won't just plop down on a seat again! Sandy was lucky, it was just a sinus infection and a day of medicine turned it around enough that she was able to carry on. I do beleive it made her sleepy though as after that she couldn't keep up with us....or maybe we just stayed out too darn late! <S> Thanks for reading & replying. I know it was way to long of a report, I'll do better next time! ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

Lee, Thanks for taking the time to type such a great report. Like JOhn said, the only problem is I'd have to print it our to remember to reply to everything I want.
I've had one Pai Gow stretch like yours. The last day of my last trip to Mesquite. Blew thru a $300 buy-in in 5 hands!
Havne't seen teh 10-play amchines, will have to give them a whirl. Do they have them above nickels? I guess quarters wouldn't be too bad, $12.50 a pop, right? Lets see, a pat Royal..... Do you think you could get them to pay you one hand at a time to avoid the W2 <G>. I've gotten sick a couple times in Vegas. Not fun spending a day in your room. Luckily, that's all the longer it ever was. I guess you'll need to bend over and sniff the seats before sitting down now. No one would think that's wierd in Vegas . You'll have to introdeuce me to some of your bartender friends. The only one I've ever gotten to know is at the Brass Bar at MSS. They'd get the Glenlevits bottle out and leave it set on the back bar, across from me.

Lee, Thank you for yet another fantastic trip report. The length was just perfect, I was able to live LV vicariously thru you! Like you said in another post, Oct 2nd is a long way off....I can't wait . I told Lee Ann when we made plans for our Oct. trip, that I wanted to make a trip to the Resorts at Summerlin. We definitely have to go, and also try their buffet, especially since it came highly recommended by you, our resident BUFFET expert . BTW, remind me never to fly with you, your luck with both legs this trip was horrendous....and as I recall, past trips weren't the best with flights either.

Lee, it seems like someone in our group always gets sick in vegas one year i had to survive on frozen margaritas, dos equis, and wild turkey for four days to even come close to being awake. with people handling dirty money, coughing on your dinner plate, and in your case peing on your chair there is allmost no way to avoid getting some bug.try this folks it works, get a flu shot,od on echinacea at least two weeks before your trip,od on vitamin c, and most important wash your hands, wash your hands, and wash your hands!! keep your hands away from your face, don't rub your eyes.both the wife and i have had no flu,no colds,no sore throats, and that's over the last three years.i hate to sound like a doc in a box lately but this works folks.

Veronica, When your signed up to Bally's VIP card, you don't need to sign up for Paris. Sumerlin, we all got slot cards, but I don't expect any offers from them. Even so, it's way to far away from anything. As for the bump situation, it is pretty dismal. Way too many people are volenteering for them. In Chicago, they offerd a bump, and a $100 voucher. You should have seen them clamering for it. I told them to forgetaboutit! For 100 bucks, it ain't worth waitint & loosing 7 hrs from my Vegas trip. Thanks for reading. ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

Jeff, I've seen the Ten Plays in Quarters, but don't remember where. It wasn't something I was gonna play! <S> You better have a strong stomach if your gonna play them at the quarter level. I also don't think the bill excepters take thousand dollar bills yet either? <S> When ever I was sick in Vegas, it was my own doing......I got to remember to "just say NO" to free drinks! LOL I am glad Sandy rebounded so well. It could have been the trip from H#LL for her. Sniff the seat....I don't think so Jeff! In hind sight, I'm just glad I sat in #1 and not #2.....if you know what I mean. VV aint the cleanest place to start with! I don't know if getting friendly with the LV bartenders is a good thing. I know I've gone through some pain from the relationship! URG! Thanks for the reply, the next TR will be much shorter. With all the TalkVegas People out for this one, I'm sure I won't remember that much! ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

Hey Michael, United out of Harrisburg was a mistake. I took the flight on a neighbors recomendation, and was so sorry. I've been checking the airfares and they are up out of Harrisburg for February, so we might just give National airlines a shot out of Philly. Either that or burn some frequent flyer miles. Well, you know it's about as good as a buffet can get Michael, but remember, it's still a buffet. Summerlin is real nice and all, but you still are basicly eating steamtable food that others have picked over. This is the best buffet I've ever eaten, but I'd still prefur to be served a meal, even at a coffee shop. (which isn't open yet at summerlin BTW) I'm looking forward to OCT! Thanks for reading my TR book! LOL ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

Hi Lee,
Maybe Sandy ended up with the same thing that I got on the last day of my trip. It started as a sore, scratchy throat and then one heck of a cough. It's not as bad now but I went thru a lot of Nyquil. Seems like a lot of people ended up with similar things, my mother and sister and an aunt out in Santa Cruz. It seems like I never have as much fun as you, ie: Laughing Jackalope, and now the seat cushion. Maybe I'll have to bring one of those football stadium seat cushions for you, just in case, on our next trip. I'm glad that I bought my tickets when I did, because right now the same flight that I paid $259 for would cost almost 3 times more if I wanted to bring a friend along. But in any case, I'll see you next week. I'm working on a possible job interview while I'm there. So who knows where I'll be for Y2K.

Geez, all of this and you are so lucky to be going back in a few weeks again!
Enjoyed your report - however, I learned my lesson at all those less than famous eating places in the lesser than famous casinos! After ruining my whole trip by eating the cheap shrimp at Nevada Landing, I make sure I play in casinos where I can get excellent food comps only - none of this grab a hot dog here or a cheap shrimp cocktail there for me anymore!
Sounds as though you're satisfied with Hertz at Harrah's, however, did you know that you could have gotten a car such as a Mitis. Eclipse from Alamo for $125 for 8 days including EVERYTHING - tax, etc.??? Why not check them out next time.
The other reason I no longer frequent smaller places such as Wild West, VV, Jokers Wild, etc. is because of what happened to Sandy at VV at the roulette table. Most likely, as you probably figured, the pit boss and/or dealer are in on it trying to rip off some unsuspecting non-local.
I feel ALL casinos should require all their employees to attend happy school at least twice per year. It would make for a much happier and healthier casino experience for all.
I guess we'll never know about the diamond bracelet at the DI, huh??
From what I remember now, at least during the past few years, Hawaiians make up a major portion of the clientele in The Cal and they seem to filter on down to MSS and The Fremont - since the food comps are connected.
While I think it's wonderful that you mention locations of particular "hot" machines, please keep in mind that it is very possible that, since this board has become popular, casino personnel may be lurking, and, then, of course, these machines may be pulled.
Again, thanks for the enjoyable report. Looking forward to your next trip!
Good Luck!

Layne, I hope the Job interview works out in Vegas! Then you can make all the meets. Plus you'll become even more knoledgable on Vegas and have more posts and we'll all benifit from it! LOL (I know wishful thinking) I'll bet if you do move out there, you won't have time for us anymore! Sick on vacation stinks, no doubt about it. As for excitment, I'd like a little less on my next adventure....er...Las Vegas trip! <S> Thanks for taking the time to read my TR, I know it takes some time to read! ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

MJ in NY, Thanks for reading my report, I see you read it, like there was going to be a test! <VBG> Your 100% correct about they way VV handled my sisters rip-off. I feel they knew. Also 100% correct about the lower casino's too, but for some strange reason, I'm drawn to them. I keep thinking maybe I'll find a jem in the rough! (not likely I know) I do get tired of the crowds though, and find as I age, I want less and less of the crowds. It's one of the reasons I think Paris didn't make a big hit with us. I've had trouble with alamooo before (more then one time) I know a great many people like the place, even some of the moderators here. But I've tried them a few times and never been happy. Hertz works for me, and If I'd pick up at the airport (I know Alamo's not at the airport it's off site, but it's out of the way) I'd have to rent an extra day also, plus returning at Harrah's is easy 24 hrs a day. So I'm gonna stick with what works for me. Atleast for the next 2 trips. But thanks for the advise just the same. Sue got the braclet. California, Fremont, MSS do have a lot of Hawians all the time, but that night it was 3 deep at the bars (all the bars) and a very young crowd. While always a polite group, I jsut didn't feel like fighting the mod for a beer. Next trip.....10 days and counting! ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com
