This is a very short report. Jen, my almost d-i-l, arrived in Las Vegas today. She's never been there, and just called me to report she's arrived safely and loving the town. She and her co-workers are staying at the Mirage. Upon Lee Ann's suggestion, Jen requested a Tower Deluxe Room, but no dice when she checked in. She did get her non-smoking, Strip view room though and has not only a view of Harrah's, but a view of part of a roof at Mirage [img]http://www.talkvegas.com/ubb/frown.gif[/img]

She hasn't looked yet but thinks the tigers might be back on display because she heard people talking about them, but she will check later tonight.

Being a rookie, naturally she is ahead in the gambling department already. She spotted a VP $1 machine with 1 credit on it and played it, immediately won 5 credits and played for quite awhile, finally hitting 4 of a Kind. Based on her enthusiasm now for VP, just call me Dr. Frankenstein--I think I've created a monster.

Glad to hear Jen arrived safely. Sorry she didn't get the tower deluxe room. Tell her to check at the desk again tomorrow and see if she can at least get a better view, especially since it's her first visit.

Did she see any celebrities?

Last night I had Jen cranking the VP machines at the Paris Sports Bar, but she lost quickly. No surprise since the pay schedules are crappy. So Jen continues to go down the VP Path Of Destruction!

Yesterday (Tuesday) over at the Mirage, a crowd was gathered at the Tiger exhibit about 5:00 pm, and everyone was checking their watches. The sign said, "Tigers will be back, 5:00 FRIDAY." Helloooooo?

A new big crowd was gathered today at 5:00 at the tiger display and checking their watches. Either that or it's the same people from yesterday still waiting!

Jen's video poker stint has ended for this trip, and she's going home a loser. However, she is managing to go home with some money, since she stashed some of it away and didn't touch it. Nice and sensible and disciplined, wouldn't you say?

#$*&@!...I really wanted to post that she hit something big, but maybe next time. I'm sure there will be a next time since her first trip to Vegas has completely corrupted her.

People were standing in front of the tiger display in January. They were looking at the curtain and the sign that said that the display was closed for renovations. There was quite a crowd, as there always is there. I wondered what they were looking at. LOL Maybe the people you saw this week have been waiting since January.

I watched Jen play VP at NYNY. She needs lessons, but I kept my mouth shut (mostly). Teri on the other hand continues to perfect her VP strategy in preparation for LV and AC. Too many VP junkies in this family!
