   My April trip
   My April trip
I am new to your board and really enjoy it. Lots of nice people here. I was in Vegas April 15 - 20th. Go every year at least once...sometimes twice. Always stay at Harrah's or Monte Carlo. Had a great trip this time...came home with more than I took, never did cash a traverls check. Won $2000 second day on a 10-times dollar machine and after that all was uphill........won on lots of the new video nickels (which I know cost more to play than the dollar machines...but they sure are fun). Averaged at least 3-4 hand pays a day on those, whcih ranged from $120 to $300, not alot, but hey its a win right ?
Saw George Carlin again....he is great..but really down on life...wow. Went to all the regular sites and saw the Comedy show at Harrah's and the kids at the Legends in Concert at IP...I always think that show is great for the price.
Really enjoyed this trip even though it was the only week in April that was actually chilly out there....the rest of the month was in the 90's. That's the only bad luck I had was the weather, and the 50 play poker. Boy that sucks it up fast...although when you hit a couple of royals it comes right back....but now we all know how often that happens.
Hope I did not bore anyone....and am glad to be here.
Jo

Thanks for posting your trip report and congratulations on coming home a winner. It's always nice to come home with more money than you took.

Welcome to the bb and thanks for posting. I agree that the Legends in Concert is a very entertaining show for the money. And, way to go hitting the machines. You are braver than I am. I don't think I could handle a 50 play machine. I suppose that at the nickle level it wouldn't be too bad, but as you said, it would really suck the money. You'd have to hit quickly and run.
I hope you will stick around the bb and become a regular.

Jo,
Please bore me!!!!
I love the trip reports! The longer the better. Hey, you can take the cold weather if the machines are hot. BTW, what's the diffrance, if you win $100 on dollars or quarters or nickels? It's $100, and a win is a win! My wife loves those new nickel machines and she has a good time playing them. So why not?
Thanks for posting your first TalkVegas trip report. You did a great job! Now.....when is the next trip?

Jo,

Welcome to the land of the addicted. The Monte Carlo is our favorite place to stay on the strip even though we don't have much luck gambling there. It sure is nice to hit big and not have to cash those travelers checks. This happened to us the last trip. Sharing trip reports is one of the many things we enjoy on this BB and I have yet to read a boring report. Thanks again and looking forward to your next trip report.

Fred

Glad to hear that I did not bore anyone. I have to agree that no matter what denomination the machine is...a hand pay is a thrill !!! Oh by the way the 50 play machine you can pick nickels, dimes, or qtrs, and I played the nickels selection. But it still scared me when I would lose ...but I LOVED it when I'd hit 4 dueces or a royal on a couple of lines.
And all the video funnies are great entertainment. At one time I have 3 machines spitting out 1500 - 1800 nickels and with 4 buckets I had to ask for help getting to the cashier.......God I can't wait to go back.... September hurry up !!!

LOL ...I'd love to have your problem with too many buckets of coins to carry...regardless of the denomination!

The 50 play poker sounds like it would be a real blur....do you actually look at each line or just wait until you have a large winner to sort it all out?
