Mini trip update
  Mini trip update
I just got back from Vegas and here are a few notes...

Stopped by Silverton Thursday (5/25) to pick up a coupon sheet and were told they were "out" and would not be receiving anymore in May. This is the 2nd time that this has happened to me this year.

Wanted to try the $4.95 Regent breakfast buffet Saturday (5/27). We arrived at 9:54am and were told by an employee they were "closed". When we pointed to a nearby sign where the hours were posted as 7-10am, she still wouldn't let us in, stating that the food is pulled at 10:10am. I will never go there again. This buffet is permanently "closed" as far as I am concerned.

Did the Reserve brunch buffet on Sunday (5/28). The price has rocketed from $6.99 when they opened two years ago to the $11.99 we paid Sunday. Ouch.

Albuquerqueith,
Silverton seems to be playing games with those coupons.
Also, the Regent should not post operation hours if they won't take guests at those hours. Seems like some of the help is a bit confused on how to help the company make money. They probably need the extra time to change to the next meal, but then the sign should read, closed at 9:30, but closing breakfast at 9:30am in Vegas....why even open for it at all?
All the Reserve food outlets are off my meal list. I've had poor & rude service at everyone I've tried so far, so I'm done experamenting.

If i feel a place is just having a bad day I will give them a second chance. If I feel a place is screwing me and the employees don't care then I'm with you. They won't see me again.
How was the buffet at the Reserve? Was it worth the increased price?

You packed a lot of info into your mini-report.

I gave brownie points to Silverton a while back from offering mammograms for slot points; I'm taking them away for not honoring this offer ...so they break even in my book.

The Regent loses brownie points with me for not being open ALL the time ....I eat on MY schedule, not theirs<g>.

In fairness to the Reserve, most places charge a couple bucks more for their Sunday Brunch than they charge during the week (when they just call it breakfast). The buffet was just so-so back when they opened, but I felt they had improved it on my last time there. They do still have full-pay quarter VP and pretty easy comps, so I'll try to check it out in the future.

Thanks for the report.
