Mike--Absolutely loved your trip report. We, like you, have tried lots of casinos and have recently moved to NYNY as our home base. As long as they keep treating us so well, and we enjoy the place so much, we see no reason to ever leave.
I have one question for you--can you tell me the approximate location of the 9/7 double bonus machines with the progressive royals? I don't recall seeing those, although we did play some 9/7 DB--over by the escalators to the strip--kind of behind the "sports book" (or as I've heard it called--the sports closet.) Maybe those are the machines and I just didn't notice the progressive royal?

Gail -
Those 9/7 DB machines with the progressives are right next to the escalators, right outside the restrooms. While there are a bunch of quarter VP machines in that area, only that one bank of 9/7 DBs offers progressives. And if memory serves me correctly, it's new since the beginning of the year. It wasn't there last December but when I was there in March, it was. And I've been pretty lucky at them - many quads and I've hit the Straight Flush 2 or 3 times now. I can't seem to get the Royal although I've seen it paid out twice now - usually when it's around $1,200-$1,300. Good Luck! Mike

Thanks for the info. Mike. I did win a progressive RF at NYNY in April--it was on the Triple Play machines along the wall back by the slot club. Of course, there's a different progressive for each line, and I hit on the lowest line ($1,071.00), but I didn't really complain.... :-) We're going back July 1st--I'll look for those 9/7 progressives.

Gail - I actually PLAYED those machines while I was there but had no luck at all. In fact, I've never had any luck with Triple or Multi-play VP machines. I figured they were just gimmicks. I've never seen anyone win at them. At least I know now that SOMEONE has won! - Mike
