Our trip began about 10:30 P.M. Saturday, March 10, as our flight took off from Philadelphia. We landed about 12:30 Vegas time and stood in a long line for a taxi to Sam

Beth ---
Enjoyed reading your report. With all the places you guys visited, who was dragging whom. Also ..... wondering with all those other places you visited, how did you get enough time in at the Sam's machines for the room comps ????
Very much enjoyed our "meet" at the MSS. I'm still amazed at how you found me at Binion's, when you basically didn't even know what you were looking for. Are you related to Agatha Christie ???? :-)) Glad you enjoyed the H/T Angels. They put on quite a show .....
Welcome home Beth & Fred! I can tell by the report, this was not a relaxing trip! LOL You sure don't let any grass grow under your feet when in Vegas.
You don't have your next Las Vegas trip planned yet! YIKES! Are you feeling ok? Are you in withdrawl, running a fever? LOL You better get cracking, and plan a trip!

Beth & Fred - GREAT trip report!! Glad the weather held up for your air travel. Many congrats on the royal and the FOUR-FOUR DEUCES!! Wow - hitting deuces on the same machine 3 times in 90 minutes! Talk about the "Golden Touch!" And I'm glad you finally tried the Krispy Kremes - you are probably now able to understand why I'm addicted to them.
Funny - I don't have a next trip planned either because I'm waiting to see how the next few months shake out. I'm thinking about it, however!
Thanks for reading the report. Why is it one's own TR never seems as exciting as others?
A good detective should never tell his/her secrets.<VBG>
Four of our nights at Sam's were comped up front as a result of past trips. May not happen next time.
Guess I did end up dragging Fred thru Harrah's one day trying to catch an earlier shuttle. He was a puffin' when we finally boarded.<G> He doesn't complain, though, so I can get away with it.<s> The exhaustion part hit when we arrived home.
Great meeting you and Nancy. Hope we can do the same on a future trip.
Thanks to you and Fred for a pro TR. You said you changed rooms and couldn't get your phone message. Did you do the free upgrade thing with the desk clerk? I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to strike it rich on MY machine. You most likely were in the right section. There are just two banks of quarter progressives in that area and the other is a 10 banger. You and Fred certainly do mix a variety of things into your trips and that must make Vegas watching very much more enjoyable. I will read and learn.
The surprising thing is that "I" thought we had a more relaxing trip than usual. Guess I can attribute that to getting more sleep on 2 of the days.
The # of casinos visited surprised even me. Didn't even mention Caesar's Forum Shops where I popped in to buy another pair of NB walking shoes and some gourmet jelly beans.<s> Also gambled about 3/4 hr. in the California as we passed through. Oh, yes, quick pop into GN for a pit stop.(Much too crowded to play and enjoy> ) Plus, we dashed through Harrah's from front to back rushing to catch an early shuttle one afternoon. Even got a chance to play bingo at Sam's one morning as I was getting tired of watching cards flashing in front of my eyes.<LOL> Did not net any cash, but received a "cute" little pair of scissors.
Most of the strip casinos were visited one afternoon when I felt we just needed to see daylight and get some fresh air, sunshine and exercise.<s>
How about you plan our next trip?<s> You've got more experience!!!<LOL>
No, we did not do the upgrade thing. We usually ask and get a room overlooking the Atrium and someone had given us a city view. I was not even aware of what had happened until Fred told me later. We said nothing to cause the change, but we have always found Sam's Town to be more than accommodating to us. The girl must have picked up on it and decided to make the quick change. I don't understand telephone systems enough to know why they could not transfer the call to the other room. Believe me, they tried!! Hope whoever called will realize we never received the message and let us know. At least, it wasn't a family emergency.
Will be sure to check out "your" machine next time.<G>

Hi Beth and Fred, Enjoyed your trip report. To bad about Sam's Town and their drop in comps. Great getting 3 dueces and a royal. Keeps the juices flowing! Mike H.
Beth, I had forgotten about those sneakers/walking shoes of yours. Where they still on sale? The reason I mention this is, Sunday, I went shoe shopping, and I ended up with a pair of New Balance #440. So far I'm very happy with them, they are very light on my feet. Maybe that is your secret for covering so much ground while in Vegas?

No, my walking sneakers were NOT still on sale. Don't remind me! Fred's been nice enough to not say anything about my refusing to get the 2nd pair at 1/2 price last trip. Mine are women's WW841WB. Really checked around here, but they kept telling me they do not stock that particular one. So, why not another pair whenever I visit LV.<G>
Hope you continue to be happy with yours. IMO, they certainly aren't pretty, but they do the job. By the way, I do wear them especially when I know we'll be walking a lot. The ones that I have are particularly good for people who are bothered with hurting heels from bone spurs. This particular one was recommended by two podiatrists.
Beth-Fred, Thanks for the great TR.Too bad about Sam's I had a feeling when they renovated. Some things might change! I hope they get the message soon and don't become another Rio or worse? Glad you told them about it.That's the only way they can find out what the consumers like or don't like. You did pretty well in the winning dept.
I'm surprised you don't use USair all the time with thier hubs in PHL and PIT and you in PA.I can't wait to get out there after reading yours and other TR's.I hope the megabucks is up for me when I get a date for the trip? I see the rates are high for most of April.I think I'll try May.Don't eat too many KK's they are as addicting as Fatburgers <G>.Do what I do and have a "Diet" Dr.Pepper with them this way you will stay thin<VBG>. Hope to see you soon. Bob NY.
Yes, US Airways is our preferred choice. They have Philadelphia airport locked up. One more paid flight and we will have a freeby with frequent flyer miles. There are no bargains in sight at this time so we'll have to keep our eyes open.
Beth and Fred, I almost had to rest before I could gather my energy and react to your TR. It was exhausting following you around. You visit more casinos in one trip than I tend to hit in a year, and you do this without a car. Awesome! And "hit" those casinos you did - you made a lot of donations, but your multiple deuces wins combined the Royal really were great. Now you've gone and inspired me to work even harder learning VP.You've made winning sound so easy. Actually Fred is the one who made it seem so easy - he must have had a really great horoscope. BTW, you should go see Legends in Concert at IP on your next trip. It's a really good show.
All three machines were to the left at the foot of the main escalators coming down from the strip. Two were JB and I think the other was DB or DDB(not sure). They are right next to the bank of progressives(on which I could not win) outside the restrooms in that area. First hit was on the end JB facing the restrooms, 2nd was on the other side of the pole on the same bank and the 3rd was in the middle of the bank directly behind the 2nd win. Sounds confusing, doesn't it?<G> Since you know your way around NYNY, you probably will understand. If not, ask again.
By the way, I did look for your "hot" machines but never found them. Really did not search very hard, though.

Exhaustion is the word. We have been home five days and haven't completely recovered. As for winning at VP, the casinos only returned a small part of what they have been keeping for us. Thanks for reading the report.

Beth! I know EXACTLY where you were playing! In fact, if the 3rd machine you describe in the middle bank is a JB, that's the machine I won my first and only royal on years ago!! Too funny! We know exactly where the machines are!
Sorry you didn't win on the progressives. I've had a lot of luck on them in the past - mostly on the side facing the restrooms.
My "Hot" machines are on the other side of the casino, between Il Forneo and the security booth.
How I wish I had been in Las Vegas to give you a Daisy Shuttle ride over to Sam's Town! Congrats to Fred on the Royal (and he can borrow my jacket in November if Beth is still strutting<g> ). It will be interesting to see if Sam's has moved MY favorite VP machines. I noticed some moves last time, but it seemed more like re-arranging the furniture, rather than eliminating any of it<g>. I'll definitely check on Fred's favorite DW machine ...getting deuces 3 times in 1.5 hours is awesome!
Wow ...you did a lot of casino hopping! My mom loves begonias, so it sounds like we need to visit the Bellagio Conservatory on our next trip, and it's nice to hear you enjoyed the second trip to Honky Tonks Angels ...did you spend any of your winnings at either the Gamblers Book Store or the Gambler's General Store?
