My favorite casino used to be Boulder Station. Then it became the Showboat. But with the recent sale of the Showboat, the machines have started to squeak. So I'm going to head back to Boulder Station and give them another chance <g>.
We spent an hour at Boulder Station on our last trip and didn't do anything but LOSe-LOSE-LOSE. At Sam's Town we lost but at a much slower rate. Sam's Town is growing on us.

Guess who finally crossed over?? Thanks to V and Joe. Thanks guys. 1. Favorite Hotel: Orleans (Don't know what it is about this place that attracts me,but it does. 2. Favorite Casino: Mirage. No big hits here, but I have won here more thaN anywhere. Wendell
I realize when reading the posts of others how little the hotels I stay at are important to me when staying in Las Vegas. I spend so little time in the room that the strangest little things, like the quick availability of ice, are more important to me than the decor of the room. While I'll spend virtually any amount for a terrific meal, I'm cheap about rooms.
I usually stay at the Riviera because I can get very low casino rates without much in the way of gambling obligations. But I feel little loyalty or affection for the place (although I admit that the contrarian in me loves the fact that it has to be the unhippest of the big casinos).
But I do like to gamble there, because of the good BJ conditions and the 10/7 DB with 400 for SF machines which are rarely busy. I do enjoy gambling at the Reserve, Fiesta (when the smoke isn't atrocious), Main Street Station. The last named is my favorite in terms of ambience.

For V: The RIO used to be my favorite before they quoted outrageous room prices on several occaisions,, and their current policy of booking Danny Gans. Still like their mini-suites and "boo-fays" though. For Joe: It was on your recommendation that I first booked the Orleans. (Thanks) It definately usurps the RIO. Best Regards: Wendell
Gail, I also like Boulder Station. It's just a good place and roomy. You have got to try that skillet breakfast deal there. You can hardly finish it! It's served 24 hrs.a day and it's just a great deal. Bob NY
Gail, I don't know the story with sunset? But I thought they were already open?? A friend of mine goes to Vegas and "only" goes to Boulder ans Sam's town.He loves them. Bob NY

Bob, I used to play at Sam's Town. They treated me very well there. Of course, I gave the a LOT of action.
When my hubby used to be a nice guy <lol>, he used to let me come to Vegas by myself. Most of the time I stayed at Sam's.
When they added the Atrium and the new hotel rooms, they changed machines around in the older section. And I just don't like the atmosphere as much as I used to.
Athough the Arium is beautiful and Papamios is a good stop once in awhile. I don't care for the machines as much as Boulder Station.
Now my dream is to take a vacation away from LV. Just a two day vacation would be wonderful <g>!
