Before I start, I need to thank all who gave advice for the trip, it made a big difference!
Monday, October 14th
Had 9:20 AM flight out of Minneapolis on Northwest flight. Cash in some frequent flyer miles to get us upgraded to first class on way to Las Vegas. As was 20th anniversary trip wanted to start it out right(and anticipated being to tired to enjoy first class on return). Flight had a bit of turbulence but all in all went well. Tickets did not show breakfest flight but surprise, meal was served (mmm, first win of the trip, hoped trend would continue). Got into Vegas on time and was at Luxor by noon. Room was not ready yet so left bags with bell stand and walked around for 30 minutes or so till counters opened. Man, did those lines form fast. Got to counter about 30 minutes of waiting in line. Had called to confirm reservation preceeding Friday and reservationist would show Pyramid room preference. Not so when we got to counter and would not be any rooms ready there for a few hours, took room in west tower instead. Room turned out to be just fine. Rested for about 30 minutes while waiting for bags, then, off to the races....
First stop, Walgreens.. Wife had forgot to pack socks and a couple other things. While en route there had to stop at M&M store and such. Needed to do a few souvenir stops. Got back to Luxor about 3 hours later, dumped purchases and headed to casino. Signed up for Players cards, took free spin (another winner, free key chain--wahoo). Walked around, played a few machines, finally sat down to video poker machines. We played for about 30 minutes then bang, wife hits 4 jacks for a nice 150.00 win. I cant hit anything. Since I win at Mystic Lake back home, I figure Vegas must be her place to win. All in all, a nice start to trip, her win kept us ahead for day.
More to come!!!!
