When we go to Las Vegas next year for a second honeymoon, we'll be staying at the Mirage.

I'd love to hear from others who have stayed here.

Thanks.

Well, I visited the Mirage on a recent trip
and although I didn't stay there, I found
a video poker machine that was generous in
the rear of the casino. Enjoyed a nice
session on it. There are still a lot of
people wandering around in the Mirage, so
it's still a popular tourist attraction, in
spite of the newer and more oppulent hotels
nearby.

Just returned from a four day stay at the Mirage. Our room was on the 20th floor looking over the pool towards Caesars so we could see from Harrah's the rest of the way south down the strip. Nice view. You could see the Eifle Tower, Wow! The room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Our room was some distance from the elevator but that's Las Vegas. Elevators were swift no waiting. The spa is wonderful! Room service was good. We only ate in the Caribe Cafe coffee shop but the food was good. We had dinner at Prime in Bellagio, fab place, I only mention this because we were able to charge dinner to our room back at the Mirage. My only complaint still and always with the Mirage is that it is too crowded. There is always a sea of people and children walking through the casino to get to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and the Dolphin Habitat. Also unless you order room service, there is only one place in the hotel to just grab a cup of coffee and longgggggggggggg lines await you there every morning. Let us know if you'd like to know anything else. Paula and Mike

Positives:
1. Decor: Prettiest interior of any in
Vegas. 2.Buffet: after 3 pm when they
put the fresh shrimp out. 3. Slots: I've won here more than anywhere (nothing big to brag about.3. Lagoon Saloon: Good free entertainment.4. Tram to Treasure Isle.
Negatives: 1. Rooms are nice, but too small. 2. Long walk in hallways to the
elevators. 3. Booking policy for S & R. Overall: Good choice, have fun: Wendell

Paula and Mike,
There are a few other places, tucked here and there, where you can go for a cup of coffee without too much of a line.
Coconut's Ice Cream Shop located on the way to the pool, isn't too bad at times. There also is the snack bar over against the wall just past the California Pizza Kitchen. The Lagoon Saloon is opened at 10 A.M. - 4 A.M.
There always is the Baccarat Bar opened 24 hours, and if you play the video poker there, your coffee would be free.

HSMOM42,
The rooms are not exceptionally big but well appointed. The bathrooms are extremely small, you'll see what I mean when you and your husband are trying to get ready each morning. If you are looking to have a wonderful second honeymoon, I would suggest you upgrade to at least a mini-suite. They come equipped with a jacuzzi tub.
For your specially anniversary dinner may I suggest Kokomo's. The atmosphere is superb and the service is impeccable. If you call well ahead of time for reservations you can try for a table near the waterfall. Completely mind boggling.
Samba Grill is also a good choice for dinner one night. Be sure to get the Brazilian Rodizio. It is well worth the value. It reminds me of a buffet, but only the food comes to you and you make your choice instead of having to go thru the buffet line.
The Caribe Cafe is rated as one of the best coffee shops in LV. It tends to get busy at times, but if you time it right, it is well worth it. The buffet is perfectly adequate, but with all the new casinos opening and vying for top buffet, I can't say that this one is the best anymore. Last, but not least, California Pizza Kitchen is our favorite place for lunch or a late quick dinner. It overlooks the casino floor, and as I have posted elsewhere, it is a great place to enjoy the action of the casino and people watching. It is located near the Sports Book.
By all means, if you are not already a Club Mirage member, join the club. There comps are pretty decent and you may even get some of your stay or meals comped before you leave.

Thanks Michael for the coffee info. the coconut place is where the long lines were. In the other spots is it to go? Agree that the bathrooms are small but they are nicely done. Paula

Paula,
The snack bar is definitely to go. I think you can ask at the Baccarat Bar for to go cups.
