I'll start by saying this trip is with my sister and brother-in-law for their 10th anniversary...they were suppossed to renew their vows.
We left Sat the 8th on Northwest from Metro airport, our 1st time at the new terminal, its much nicer than the old. Plane was about 1/2 hour late leaving but pretty smooth flight. Arrived in LV still 1/2 hour late took shuttle to Thrifty (bad choice in rental cars on our part but we were going for cheap) waited almost 2 hours for car!
Off to the Fitz for check in we will be staying for a week, my sister and hubby are staying here just for Sat night then it is off to the Hilton Vacation Condos at the Flamingo. We have timeshare and got them the room for their anniversary. Check went good asked for a corner room and got it. Had to wait about an hour for it to be ready. No problem off to play downtown. Had some luck not anything big but had fun!
Sister and B-I-L off to see Zumanity Sat night. We stayed downtown and played for the night. Had dinner at Tony Romas steak and lobster special, steak was ok but lobster was cooked perfectly. Played until 2:30 am (up 24 hours with time change)
Sunday morning up at 7:30am can't sleep in Vegas! Played for few hours nothing big. Got a call from front desk need to move our room plumbing problems. Asked for another corner room got one of their Club 21 rooms, more stuff, paper in the morning, turn down service at night w/bottles of water. Brunch at Main Street Buffet. Off to check sis in at Flamingo. Great room, 1 bedroom with large jacuzzi tub, kitchen and living room. stayed for a little while they unpacked. Back DT to the Larry G Jones show at the Fitz, free show and it was good. We happened to see him on his last night at the Fitz. Seafood buffet at Fremont. Took sis back to Flamingo, we wandered the strip. Played until 3am.
Monday up at 7am, off to the Strat to check it out really haven't spent much time here, now I know why! Couldn't win a lick, saw Viva Las Vegas ok for the money, good comedians bad dancers. To the Rio and the Palms better luck here but still nothing good. Saw the new parade show wasn't impressed. Over to Hard Rock won $100 progressive on 5 cent poker. Dinner at Mr Lucky's steak and shrimp special decent for $6. Back DT @ 11pm played til 3am.
to be cont....

Tim & Karen, Sorry about Thrifty, If you join their Blue Chip (free to join), your car would be ready and waiting no lines, just tell the driver your name, and go to the Blue chip counter. P.S. My advise is to join all the rental companys that are free to join, It ends waiting time, gives you better service, etc.

Tim & Karen, That's the weird thing about the Fitz and a couple other downtown places. Are we the only ones that see the potential of these places? The Fitz has on many occasions booked decent talent for this dinky room, only to loose them to some other place. The talet director is doing his job, but lets face it, to keep the performers, he's got to offer a better place to showcase what they do best.
Susan, The Plaza has a bigger showroom, and a better lay out, but it's in a poor state also. While it's been said else where on this BB that the Plaza is where old slot machines go to die, it's also equally harsh on it's booked entertainers. I can't think of one show that didn't end at the Plaza. It's not a place where carears start, it's where they end. IMHO
