ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE:
Another Southwest Airlines on time flight found us on the ground at McCarron airport at 12:05PM Sunday 9/5. We picked out a nice Dodge Stratus with a little over 3,000 miles on it and were off to the Aladdin. We let the bell staff take our luggage for future delivery and proceeded to the VIP check in as Host Tony had instructed. The nice lady assigned us a 15th floor room overlooking the Bellagio fountains and the Paris globe. We spent a lot of time watching the fascinating water fountain displays for four days. The room was only three doors from the elevator, so Carol had an easy walk to and from. The room had a king bed and a king shower which are standard for the Aladdin. A computer with internet access was in the room and could be used for 9.95 per day, but I decided to wait until I returned home for all of that. An ample closet, two comfortable chairs, a couple of tables and amoire with the TV, drawers etc.

Wednesday morning I looked up host Tony and found our play merited full comp of the room, but we had to pay some $60 in restaurant bills. This was OK considering that Carol spent most of our stay in bed with whatever she had come down with and I didn

First off, I am soooooo jealous<g>. I really wanted to be there this week, but I also wanted to finish up some home improvement projects ... sensible but nowhere near as much fun.

Sorry to hear Carol wasn't feeling well and that the gambling gods weren't smiling on this trip, but it still sounds like you got some fun in. I sure know what you mean about the VP at the Aladdin .... only went there once and stubbornly insisted on playing $20 on bonus poker since that was the best of the crummy paytables<g>, and I know I'll always be ahead on VP at the Aladdin cuz I hit Aces and don't plan on playing there again.

Thanks for the tip on the monorail ... I want to try it sometime just for the experience, and that one-way fare would work! Your comments on the consolidated rental lots make me like Alamo's location every more<g>.

I'm sorry those pesky household things got in the way. We missed you. With only six at the meet, we all got to talk a little. Of course with Ralph and Lee both there a little was all the rest of us got to say.(lol) Seriously we did go non-stop for two hours +. A great bunch.

Bob - Thanks for the TR - it's too bad your wife was sick most of the time but at least it sounds like you had a nice room at the Aladdin. I agree with you about the monorail. It's not comfortable or plush but it does serve a purpose, especially if you're staying on the east side of the Strip. Hopefully they'll be getting it fixed soon! Also sorry you lost on this trip - hopefully your next trip will be more fruitful. Hope Carol is feeling better! --Mike

Ah yes. We didn't exactly have a trip like yours. But then Vegas would disappear in a short while if everyone did to them what you did to them

Carol is feeling better. It must have been a flu bug or a bad latte The monorail will be out of service until they are satisfied it is really fixed. It sounds like that could be a considerable length of time. We're working on November, Wendell. I'll let you know.

Bob, it was nice seeing you again, sorry your wife couldn't make your meet. Are you sure it wasn't those pay tables on the VP at the Aladdin that made her ill??? She did what I have been doing at the Aladdin, play the slots! LOL

I think you owe your wife a better trip to Las vegas and I prescribe a trip around thanksgiving as "just the thing"! LOL
