Hi everone I love reading this BB but time keeps me from posting very often. I did post this on several Vegas BB and though the good people over might want to read it.

Talked to one of my best sources of Vegas info. this morning.
Would you believe that many of the major hotel-casinos are now monitoring what is being said on all BB about Vegas.

One top management person made a statement at a staff meeting that these BB could become a major source of vaulable information.

He said their goal is to find out what people are complaining about so they can make adjustments and become more competive with other establishments.

They want to know what people think about their restaurants, were people eat they gamble.

What everone thinks about their room, room service, maids and maintenance. also about the apperance and cleanness of their room.

What people think about the layout of the casino.

What everyone thinks about there slot club and table comps, length of time to check in and out.

There is even a company set up to monitor and make out reports from these BB and sell the information to the management of hotel-casinos.

In this modern world some one looks at every thing we say or do.

Doesn't sound like casinos are very efficient when it comes to spending. A casino might be wiser to have one of their own employees monitor the sites and report back than putting out bucks to buy from a middleman.

Believe it can only do us good by letting casinos know exactly what we like or dislike concerning their operations. Think we'd all agree there is room for improvement in many areas as well as there being many things about casinos that please us.

Now we can start guessing who it might be on TalkVegas that is selling information.<grin>

I had suspected for a long time that this would, and should, be going on. There is a wealth of information here that they could use.

After all, most people don't complain, they just don't come back. That can really hurt some of these resorts. By monitoring the boards they can get candid opinions on their establishments and make them better. Which works great for all of us.

What I won't like is if they try to plant shills to post how great they are. First it won't work well because there are to many of us on these boards that know better. Second most of us visit several sites and something like that would be picked up pretty quickly. Third these site have moderators who can eject a suspicous post in a heartbeat.

Well, Kizzy, if monitoring the TalkVegas BB results in actions which improve the things
customers like to see in the hotels and casino's, I'm for it.

I don't consider it "Big Brother" watching.
After all, it's a public bulletin board, and
should be an excellent source of information for the hotels.

Now, Hotels, if you really are monitoring this board, I do have one suggestion:

We Las Vegas fans who are in the senior
age bracket would like to see a menu in
your restaurants (not the buffets) which
cater to smaller appetites. For those of
us who can't handle a 10 or 12 ounce steak
but could enjoy a 6 ounce one, it would be
great to have a choice, priced accordingly.
I hate to see half a steak go to waste,
simply because it's the only size offered,
and I don't want that much.

It doesn't surprise me either that someone is reading the bb's for the casinos/hotels.
I agree that most people don't complain to the properties directly, they just don't return.
With the growth of the internet I think this is what we have to look forward to.
If anyone ever gets an e-mail from someone representing a casino or hotel it would be interesting to hear what they had to say.

Yikes, I've been writing under a misconception!

All along, I honestly believed that the major reason for this phenominal site was to let the casino management know how we felt about casino management!

Now you tell me that you only THINK we have been monitored?!

I personally think, that every casino in Las Vegas worth a sack of jelly beans has been reading this BB on a daily basis and discussing it thoroughly at morning/weekly
/monthly hotel/casino meetings.

I don't think they're dumb enough to ignore it!

If any casino was to hire an independant agency to gather this type of information they would have to pay the profits from a week's of craps' wnnings and probably way much more!

Why do that when they can get it for free!? All they have to do is read it here in TalkVegas!

This site is way more important than most of us realize! Believe me! They read this! They discuss it!

And if they got any brains at all, they follow through!
