Drink and Fly - A Promotion
Drink and Fly - A Promotion
I've become familiar with an old saying over the years that I entirely agree with but seldom obey, particulary when it comes to my yearly visits to the great drinking city of Las Vegas.

You might know it too and abide by it on occasions but not 100% of the time!

It's not the old saying that Smoky the Bear says or "I'll Be Back!" or "Mickey Likes It!", or "You Know How to Whistle Don't You? ........", so if you made a guess already and guessed one of the above, I have to say that you are wrong. Dead wrong!

The old saying that I am referring to is, "Don't Drink and Drive!". A sensible statement and one that should be well heeded, but seldom is.

But now, thanks to one of my favorite Las Vegas Hotel/Casinos (Boulder Station), I can lock up my car and check into my room and go downstairs where I am free to abide by the old and famous (but seldom remembered now a days) saying. "Drink Lots of Vodka and Fly!"

And I think that this is a great idea and it sounds like it should be lots of fun.

Did you get the invite from Boulder Station? Ice cold Stoly call drinks for only $1.99 between the hours of 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Have a couple and then slide behind the controls of their Mig Fighter Virtual Reality machine. Plus you get a free photo of your bloodshot eyeballs while you're in the pilot's seat.

I think that this is a great promotional tie-in. Safe and sane and lots of fun without driving a real motion machine under the influence of Russian alcohol.

I'll definitely be checking into the Boulder Station if this is still being promoted by the time of my next visit.

Bartender, I'll have another one of those Stoley Martini-offskies and some change for the Mig Fighter, please!

Thank God, elevators drive themselves!

Look for the Russian Mig in the parking lot. The pilot was smart. He landed when he felt he had too much to drink. A good lesson for all of us!

Will,
Don't know if your just joking or if thing is for real out at Boulder. But in theory it sounds like a great idea, but I don't know if I'd want to sit in that seat!
Those motion simulator rides probably upset more then a few stomachs and drinking and then heaving in a mig simulator, doesn't sound like a fun time to me. Or does sitting in a seat that someone heaved in a short while ago.

Will, somehow this sounds like something I would rather watch YOU do than do myself<G>
I do know a couple of people on this bb that would do the flight simulator thing. Come to think about it, I know some people on this bb that would do the vodka thing also<G>

Ah the Mig, also known as Russian Yard Darts, would be interesting. They probably want you to drink to skew the planes poor flight performance.

I'll stick to Bud, thank you, but if they want me to fly it, I'll give it a try.

No, Lee. It's true ......... a real simulator
and even a real MIG in the parking lot, but they won't let you fly that one cause the parking lot ain't long enough to take off I guess.

I don't know how great the simulator is for I have yet to see it, and if I ever do see it, it may be hard to describe through vodka floating eyeballs.

Anyone try it out yet?
