Could somebody give me their critique of the "deluxe" rooms at Bally's. Trying to decide between a few different options and this is the one I'm not familiar with.

Also, any other opinions of Bally's on a whole.

Dan,
It's been a number of year since I've stayed at Bally's but the standard rooms are a bit larger then the normal LV rooms. We've been upgraded a few times to small suites too.

I always liked the casino, it's easier to locate people inside then most, due to the elavated area where check-in is, you get an overview of the whole place.

We don't gamble/go inside much at all anymore. For some unknown reason, they cut off my casino rate. That's when we moved over to the Flamingo.

Not sure what you mean by their "deluxe" rooms. They might consider them ALL deluxe. FYI, the North tower rooms were recently renovated and are the clear choice there....

It's been my experience that what a hotel calls its "deluxe" rooms usually are its standard rooms. Sort of like "Grade A beef." In any event, though, I don't think you'll be disappointed in any of Bally's rooms. I only stayed there once, but it was on a low floor and a room that was booked through a wholesaler, so I'm sure the room was toward the bottom end of their quality. The room was more than acceptable, and on the large size. Casino is nice, though quite sedate.

I was there 2 years ago. I was not impressed with the rooms at all. They may have remodled since then. I'm not in the room much anyway, so if you get it for a song and dance I am sure it would be ok

Regarding Bally's room locations...maybe someone else can verify this since I’m not positive this is correct, but I’ve read where if you ask for a room number ending in 10, this will give you an extra sink and dressing area as well as a balcony with a view of the Bellagio fountains. If this isn't available, then ask for a room number ending in 09--same type of room but without the view.

Anybody ever tried Bally's 22nd Club? I have not but understand it's $35/person/day.

This is a lounge area on the 22nd floor where you get continental breakfast, free phones, incoming faxes, evening drinks and hors d'oeuvres along with concierge service for dinner reservations, etc. Am I missing something? It seems kinda steep at $35 per, although I have heard that it is really geared toward business visitors, so if the company is paying, I guess then it's a good thing <g>. Are there other hotels in LV that offer this type of private lounge area for an extra fee?

A friend of mine knew a concierge at Bally's, and got us in th club on a stay a while back. While it is pleasant enough, your instinct is right IMO -- it is not worth anything NEAR $35/day.

Paid the $35.00 once because I had a lot of faxs I needed to sent. That was the only thing that made it worth the money. Twenty faxs at 3.00 each 60.00 bucks so I would have saved 25.00 dollars. My wife went with me so I guess I lost 10.00.

Does anyone know if the standard Ballys room has a hairdryer?

Dave: Yes, Bally's has a hairdryer in each room. According Hilton, all their hotels rooms do.
