Woke up and went downstairs to have a nice breakfast at the buffet - nothing fancy, but neither was the price! Went back up to the room, puttered around a little - I had brought the laptop, and paid the fee to connect to the Net, so I surfed a bit, catching up some necessary business (read: football pools!), and just generally lounged a bit! Made a trip to the BJ tables, broke even after about an hour, quit to run back up to the room, and so on! Repeated this a couple of times - usually ending up even/few ahead/a few down (more on that later). Actually took a nap - a then came down to cheer Kes on in her Big Time Slot Tournament! That was a lot of fun - cheering my sister on, as she punchpunchpunchpunch as fast as the machine lets her...after that, resumed my up and down/back forth from the BJ back to the room! I had a 'night out' planned, so I ate at the coffee shop - a nice order of ribs - went upstairs and got dressed for my big night! While I was eating my bowl of soup, I noticed a funny thing - one of the crackers that came with it were round....and I found myself neatly stacking, and playing with them like they were casino chips! Its funny what habits you pick up....

since it was 'only' midnight, I decided to play some serious BJ - what a wild ride! Got up a 100, then evened out...down 50..then evened out...got up another 100 - then evened out...actually got down to my last $10 chip - then rallied back even. This was a particularly fun group to play with - one guy would make chicken noises when someone played it too safe, another couple of people making funny jokes...plus a good, personable dealer! Like a fool, I kept playing - it was about 2 by now, and I probably had lost my 'edge' - and started tanking again! Plus, Kes showed up, a distracted me a little...actually it wasnt her fault, but did sort of throw me off a little (she has watched me win up at Niagra, so it was NOT her). Finally lost my last chip** and in sympathy, she bought me the overnight breakfast special at the coffee shop, and then we hit our various rooms!
One more day to go!
**It should be noted that at NO time during the entire trip did I ever buy extra chips - I played with what I brought to the table, and it was gone, so was I! I might have lost $200 over the whole week, so I did not do TOO bad for my first trip!
