Hi Dag, I did have arthroscopic surgery on my knee in 1998. I had no pain afterwards, went to therapy for about six weeks and wore a brace like thing all the way up my leg that went around and hooked with velcro. I could not drive while wearing that thing. I think I wore that for about six weeks. I could walk around, with a cane, I just couldn't bend my leg, except in therapy. (By the way, that is NOT the reason I now use a scooter............ )

Sorry to hear about you accident Dag!
David had knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus several years ago. It was orthoscopic.
He followed the doc's directions to the letter afterwards, which meant icing the knew something like 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off and (MOST important) staying Completely off the leg for the first 36 hours, except for trips to the restroom.
He had a pretty pain free recovery after that. never even used the pain pills. And I think he was up and around a week or two later.
But - could he have navigated Vegas that early? Not the way we do Vegas - sight seeing, staying or walking through the really big casinos. Maybe the way you do Vegas, Dag - just use valet parking more, pick machines that are close to the door or the elevator, and get the sympathy of all the CW's and desk clerks?
hmmm, rehab in vegas? just wheel me to the orleans, pack the knee in frozen margeritas,a little ride the stationary bike,i think L+I will go for that.since i work on my feet all day i'm guessing my rehab is going to be a little longer than i expected.
happy knee year to all!and lets add health and wealth to all.good news on the knee, surgery is scheduled for jan 18th and doc said if i had a desk job i would be back to work in about a week for me being on my feet all day it is going to be about 3 to 4 weeks and i will walk out of the recovery room with the aid of some crutches for stability

Hi dag, Hope your surgery went well today and that you are up dancing in a day or two. The Palazzo opened (well, had it's GRAND opening last night......been open for a couple of weeks) and is just waiting for you to come and give your approval.
thank you for thinking of me and the kind thoughts.so far so good but they lied about(most people don't use the pain pills)uh,make that a double please, vicodin please.after that wears off i am starting on makers mark manhattans, alot of them!
Glad it's good so far ... but ROTFL at your comment about pain meds & lies ... did they use the classic line on you? "With your good attitude, you probably won't even need the pain meds."
three parts makers mark, one part martini & rossi dash of bitters. the bellagio manhattan.think i will buy a jug of knob creek tomorrow and see what a wynn. manhattan does for me.i believe knob creek is 100 proof.
cocktail hour will start at about 10:00 AM to all that would like to stop by and wish me well<G> jmt, we will sched a rib or prime run one night and hit those machines!
DAG, Glad your through the op OK! I prefur my manhatten with southern comfort and a dash of both, bitters and sweet vermuth. The first one always seems a little sweet, but after that I don't remeber noticing too much! LOL
what pain<G> when the folks lived in florida, dad would make an orange blossom special.i don't know if that was what he called it or if that was a official named drink.he would make that with cheap booze, southern comfort and orange contreau.in my search for manhattan recipes i have come across a recipe for a gran manhattan that is made with gran mariner and a dash of bitters, sounds good to me
