Town Square? A large shopping center with maybe 20+ different buildings. The closest thing to compare it to is The District at Green Valley Ranch. The location in on the strip at Sunset, south of Mandalay bay, north of 215, north of Frys, just across that corner of the airport. It's hard to believe it is also the site of the old Vacation Village which always "seemed" further south.
For dining, there is a Claim Jumper, California Pizza Kitchen, Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe, Yard House, and a few others. Louis Osteen has a couple of places for his lowcountry southern seafood. One is a bar setting, one is a restauarant.
There is a pretty cool Boarders book store. It's wide and open with most books set up so so you can see the front cover of the book instead just the binded edge. It also has a high tech center in the middle where you can download songs and burn a CD on the spot, print photos from your camera, make a photo album, make cards, publish a pamphlet, a guide, a novel, or anything inbetween.
There are lots of stores like Eddie Bauer, Tommy Bahama, Guess, Gap, Old Navy, H&M, and more.
There is an Apple Store, Godiva Chocolates, Fossil, Guitar Center, Sunglasses Hut, Victorias Secret, and specialty stores.
There is a nice little courtyard/park type area with a kids area and still room for an art show, small concert, or small event. Of course there are many kiosks to sell you just about anything.
It is interesting that you can pretty much drive all through it, parallel park within the groups of buildings, park in a parking garage, or park in the parking lots outside of the group of buildings like a mall. There is even a complimentary valet parking service.
As I mentioned to dag, there is a big state of the art movie complex. The media sure bragged about it when it opened. I think it may be totally digital and I think there are about 20 something movies playing. They talked about how they can download the film and have it playing as soon as it is released.
There is no gaming. It does make for an interesting couple of hours on a nice day to walk through. There ae still a lot of shops that have not opened yet. The main paths are almost completely opened. The secondary paths between buildings are maybe 60% occupied. I think long term plans might even allow it to expand out with more buildings. The grand opening of the place was in November when about 50% of the main path shops were open, so it is growing rapidly and there are lots of interesting shops to come.
That Louis's Las Vegas sounds like a really interesting restaurant. The next time I see a movie, I'll probably go there.
