Has anyone visited the Casino Legends Hall of Fame Museum at the Tropicana. I noticed free admission coupons in the Casino Player magazine, but I never bothered to go check it out. Although I haven't been visiting Las Vegas for too many years, I am interested in learning more about the history of this great city. Is it worth a visit?

LEEANN,

We visited the Hall of Fame about a month ago using the same coupon from Casino Player Magazine.

We spent about an hour perusing the many exhibits. They played videotapes of Meyer Lansky, Bugsy, and the other wise guys. There were also tapes of LV history including the demolition of the Sands,Landmark, Dunes, Hacienda (are there any more?) There were glass cases with memorabilia from long extinct hotels and casinos with the years they were in existence. I found that fascinating.
There were actual cancelled paychecks of famous entertainers--Sophie Tucker, and others I can't remember. Pictures of famous entertainers--Ronald Reagan doing a song & dance routine, among others. This place is a bonanza if you like history.

Ken,
Thanks for the reply. I see that even without the coupon the regular admission is only $4 and $3 for seniors 65 and up. Sure seems like a reasonable price, even if you only spend an hour there. The museum is open Sunday through Thursday 8am to 9pm and Friday and Saturday 8am to midnight. I think I might try to visit it on our next trip.

Hi Daisy,

We kind of found our way again after *p went by the wayside.

We started playing VP deuces on our last trip. Fun game.
We're not in your league yet but hopefully will be soon. Hope to see you again soon.

Lee Ann,

IMO, definitely worth visiting. And plenty of free coupons to be found in LV if you forget to bring your coupon from home.

The gift shop has quite a collection of casino chips, by the way. I'm not a collector, but a friend of mine who is says the prices aren't too horrendous.
