   Las Vegas things
   Las Vegas things
Didn't know where to put this little topic, so I guess here is as good a place as any.

I was wondering around LV for 9 days and something occured to me! There are some sights, sounds, and yes.....smells, that, for right or wrong, are Las Vegas, in my mind.
Follow me on this one....you'll get the picture.....

That buzzing sound, from old neon signs, you don't hear that much, anywhere, but Las Vegas.

That Boiled hot dog smell, that you smell as you walk by the Imperial Palace!

Or the signs that toute the 99cent shrimp cocktails & $4.99 prime rib dinner.

So now I'm asking you....what's Las Vegas to you????

Lee, We maust have been in the same spots at the same times (So an apology is probably in order on my part). I can recall those three memories explicitly (plus many more).

If you don't mind, I'll elaborate at a later date.

Lee,
My favorite Las Vegas sight is "Jackpot...Call Attendant", flashing on the video poker machine screen. <vbg>

Related to that, my favorite sound is the bell sounds and music that the machine plays when I hit a jackpot. When the same sounds come from someone else's machine, I think it's an annoying sound. <vbg>

To me, Las Vegas is like a fantasyland. It's someplace unlike anywhere else I have been, and someplace to forget about work, if only for a short time. <s>

Beth,
I think it's all good times and great memories. But that's the way I look at life in general. I have memories of Vegas in my mind that really arn't great memories, but it's a " I know I'm in Vegas thing" Like smelling salt air and knowing your at the Jersey shore type of thing.

Will800,
No apology needed, there is plenty of room for both of us!
The fact we both had the same idea, means it must have been a pretty darn good idea! <S>

Yes Lee, I was going for a theme to my post. LOL
I just realized that I didn't talk about the smells. <vbg> My favorite smell is the bouquet of the wine or champagne that I have the cocktail waitress bring me after I win my jackpot. (This is the only exception to my lucky video poker rules. Normally I don't order a drink for myself while playing, because then I tend to lose. <vbg> Michael orders drinks for me and brings them to me...what a guy he is. <s> )

Lee,

I've been really thinking about this one. The weather is probably number one to me. My joints don't hurt when I'm in the desert.

Jeff, is it your joints don't hurt, or is it your to busy to mind them? <VBG>
I've had hip problems from time to time, and always when I'm in Vegas, (they don't go away) but it gets my mind off my problems and lets me enjoy the moment.

Riding up or down the strip for the first time.
About seven years ago I convinced my wife to accompany me to LV for her first trip there. As we were riding down the strip that first night, she commented on how it was an adult fantasyland and that everyone should see it one time. She was glad she made the trip, but now it was a
