   Your Wishes for Las Vegas
   Your Wishes for Las Vegas
If you were granted three wishes for the future of Las Vegas, what would they be?

It's hard to keep mine down to just three, but I'll try.

1. Super modern transportation system to rapidly carry the millions of visitors and locals throughout the city thereby giving me more time for fun.

2. A return of service-oriented thinking by management whether it be in hotels, restaurants, stores or whatever.

3. All strip casinos, as well as local casinos, will realize that customers ARE important. So much that they install more full-pay video poker machines and reduce the house advantage in other gaming areas.

I think I could get down to one wish. Turn the clock back 25-30 years.

That would take care of just about all the problems Vegas has now IMO.

Beth, I like your #1 and #2. Maybe another wish would be for the crowds to become smaller so I can walk through a casino without tripping over strollers and gawkers.

Mine are sort of small time wishes. Not easy, but small hopes...
#1 people wouldn't be so rude
#2 Get the smut peddlers off the strip (and anywhere else) I'm so sick of walking down the strip, and these people trying to put this stuff in my hand, then if I don't take it, they try to give it to my wife. I rate this behaviour right up there with tele-marketers. nuff said
#3 End to strip grid-lock

Lee,

Just read about someone complaining that the smut dealers create a loud slap with the papers, then practically place them in your hand.....whether you're interested or not. Understand it has gotten worse than it was just 10 years ago(after they were curtailed slightly). Is that true? We've not walked the strip for several trips so I did not realize it has gotten worse and out of hand again.

Understand if they touch you at all, that "IS" illegal and you should notifiy the Metro police.

Wanted to get some stroll time on the strip next trip. If they interfere with entrance to casinos, I can see some tourists avoiding those particular casinos. I probably will. Even though it's not the casino's fault. I'm sure they'd like to get rid of them also.

Beth, when we first started going to Vegas 8 yrs ago, they would only give them to men. As the years progressed they got rather daring and started giving them to women. I loved it for the short while while they were put out of business. But alas, that didn't last too long! What really irritates me is seeing the young children passing them out!

I didn't know that about them touching you. I'll keep that in mind......maybe accidentally touch them and say they touched me???? hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........

54Carol,

When you were in LV recently, did it seem as though it has become worse than it originally was before the brief period with restrictions? I sure hope not! During our first visit to LV, one could collect a box full of flyers just walking a short distance on the strip. Not to even mention the trash that was laying all around as people took the flyers and just threw them anywhere. That was just as annoying! There are trash receptacles that can be found along the strip. My first visit I actually thought I might be able to purchase a local newspaper from one of those newspaper boxes where the flyers were stored.<LOL>

Wish #1 I have always wondered why a couple of the casinos didn't offer a discount or better yet canadian at par. There are flights leaving every day from Toronto and Vancouver. Show your passport and flight ticket as well as verification of staying at that hotel and get a maximum of say $500.00 at par.

Wish #2 I wish I could afford to go to Vegas. Haven't been since 1996. NY NY had not even opened yet.

Wish #3 See wish #1 and #2 lol

Slot Tech, I don't know about where you live, but from Cleveland there are lots of packages that include airfare and hotel at very reasonable prices. I can get to Las Vegas and stay there for very little money. It's the gambling that takes all my cash.
Hope you can make a trip in the near future. Las Vegas is constantly changing and you will be amazed.
