   Opening of Terrible
   Opening of Terrible
Passed by Terrible's Hotel and Casino(site of the old Continental) and was wondering if any locals know when it will open. It was orignally scheduled to open its doors on November 21, but sure did not look as though that date had been met.

This particular casino is to be promoted as a local casino such as the Gold Coast and Orleans and announced it will be using the paper system(similar to the Suncoast)if the coin payoff is above $200.

Tom or Blossom,
Any current news available?

Thanks Blossom. Guess we left town a week too early to check it out.<vbg> There's always the next trip. When you visit it, please let us know what you think.

Beth or anyone...
Was it just me, or does Terrible's casino sign seen really bright? Maybe it was just because it was away from the strip and has a dark back-drop, but it seems so bright to me each time I would pass it!

Lee,

I thought it "was" bright but they're probably hoping it can be seen from the strip.<g>

Forgive my ignorance, but is this the place about 2-3 blocks east of the Flamingo and just north of the Hard Rock? Also isn't there some "free" coupons on their website?CU Kathy

Kats,
Yes it's the old Continental Hotel/Casino. I'm looking forward to seeing the inside to see what they have done after taking so long to get this project open to the public. In a town where things move so fast, I was suprised at the slow pace the remodle was done.
Anyone have any speculation on why it wasn't completly knocked down and built anew? A friend said it might have something to do with fire codes, being an older structure, it's grandfathered and possibly exempt from some of the newer codes? Just a hunch?
