Battle for High Rollers Will Begin
Steve Wynn's Le Reve set for opening March 2005 is planning to draw the biggest % of high rollers from other casinos. An article in today's issue of LVRJ says that there will definitely be a strip battle for the whales. My bet is he will give MGM/Mirage and the others a run for their money. He is planning to make a huge casino feel more homey than the Bellagio and others. Must be nice to make gigantic mistakes and then have enough money to build another to top your last.

Beth & all,
One thing I did take notice of this past trip. Those higher end slot & table places in the better casinos where not doing much business. The only time I seen anyone in the Golden Nugget high end table game area was saturday night and it was one woman betting $50 a hand....big deal!
The $5 to $25 slot area was deserted too. This was over many visits to the Nugget.
Very few places I had company at the $25 BJ tables. MSS, Luxor, and the Orleans being the exceptions.

Thats what I thought Lee.
The last time in Vegas, me too was wondering why the high limit areas in any casino where always empty.

IMHO the casino earn their bread and butter with the " normal betting people ".

Jan,
I'm not a high roller, but I have been inside a few of these pits. I pesonally don't like playing there for the most part. The biggest part of live gambling is the interaction with others. It is a social event of sorts with me. Maybe if the pits had more players I wouldn't mind as much. I do like the special treatment while playing, don't get me wrong.
I think the casinos have been forced to make it on the backs of the regular player, because of the deminished amount of whales avaiable.
