Short notice, but I saw a preview for Dateline NBC tonight. I guess the main story is about Al Roker, a fat weatherman that lost weight.

The secondary story is about the murder of Susan Berman. She was the daughter of Vegas mobster Davie Berman. Some of you might remember the first big series of Las Vegas on the A&E channel, in which Susan Berman told a lot of her story. Her murder was the biggest murder case with a Vegas connection since the not so mysterious murder of Ted Binion. I think Susan was murdered in LA.

Tuesday, December 3 the TRavel channel will have a program at 8:00 P.M. (ET) that shows a taxi driver ripping off a customer. It looks like they are going from the airport to a casino.

Frred, I was the same promo. It sounded like there was about a $40 rip off. That is a lot going from the airport to a casino. I will have to check this one out.

Last nights program was very interesting. Thanks to this BB, we have only been taked once by a cabbie. THat was when it cost us $10 to go from SAm's Town to Boulder Station. We don't use a cab often, but when we do, we write the name of the company and cab number on a slip of paper. Then we address the driver by name, Either that has stopped us from having a bad experience or we have been getting decent drivers.

Those of you who missed the two-hour show on travel scams on the Travel Channel last evening might want to check and catch it at a future date. IMO, it was certainly worth watching. We were aware of many of the tips, but it made me think about all those shuttle trips from airport to casino or parking lot to airport when our luggage is out of view.

Beth, I just watched a 3 hour version of travel scams on the Travel channel. While there was very good information in the programs, they just drug out too long. In a way I feel that I wasted a beautiful Saturday afternoon in front of the tube. In another way I feel that I will be a smarter traveler in the future. If it saves me from being scammed just one time it more than makes up that lost Saturday afternoon.

The part about the unsafe fanny packs brought back some fun memories of discussions we've seen on this BB in the past.
