I remember playing 25 cent blackjack in 1960. I believe that "second spot" you refer to was either the Dunes or the Flamingo. It sure was a long haul from there out to the Hacienda, wasn't it?

Thanks for reminding me of the "good old days".

Thanks guys, you made me feel really young here<g>. My first trip was in 1969, and I think Circus was the new kid in town then, but I was taking board exams and didn't notice a whole lot. My next trip was about 1974, and I still fondly remember my poolside room at Caesars for $40/night ... and my fascination with jai ali across the street at the MGM. I sure wish someone would bring that game back to town!

Daisy, I had forgotten about the Jai-Alai games at the "old" MGM. Caesar's was a lot smaller then, The Sands was just down the road a bit.

I'm going to visit my son in Miami this April. Maybe I can catch a Jai-Alai match then.

Yea, I also recall that Jai-Alai game and remember that they had a special desk where you could bet on the games.

Do I also recall a big glass window?

I do remember that ball traveling awfully fast.

Was it really in the MGM?

Can someone refresh my memory about this? I haven't thought about it since that day I saw it.

Thanks, WIll

Yes, Will, there was a huge glass window .. to protect the fans from that fast moving ball. I had a lot of fun with $2 bets there, especially one I *think* was called the Quintella ..where you tried to pick the top 3 finishers.

Yes, it was sort of the MGM ....it was the old MGM, on the current Bally's site.
