It's a past problem, a present problem and it looks like it's going to be a future problem in Vegas. I read today that another mother has had her childern removed from her, because she let then alone in a car with the windows rolled up in the sun. I'm sure criminal charges will be brought too. People, it's hot in that sun, just walking around. When will people start to think????
I'm guessing many senseless deaths occure each year in Las vegas and surounding areas, because of this problem. What I find so hard to beleive is someone could be that thoughtless? I mean, all you have to do is get into your car one time where you can't touch the steering wheel because it's too hot. Or like me, burn your hand grabbing for the seat belt. Those cars become death ovens for anything left unattended. Besides people, countless pets must be lost each year also to this tragic blunder.

I am with you - we have those occurances in the DFW area each year also. We are approaching our triple digit time and I cannot understand these careless unthinking people.
You should have seen the woman's picture, she looked like a hooker strung out on drugs. She probably lives in the part of town that the IQ of the entire population added up would not equal the temp of 109 that it hit on the day she left them in the car. The kids are probably much better off now that they are not in her custody.

Ralph, I also hear that the lake level keeps on going down. I understand bits and pieces of the dam construction site that were thought to be burried in the water forever are starting to reappear.
Are there any new serious concerns in areas of water conservation, downstream irrigation, electricity demmands, or recreational use of the lake?
I hear that there is complete B29 sitting at the bottom of the lake that crashed there right after the war. From what I've heard, I think the entire lake and even the river would have to dry up to expose it.

JMT; I read in the Review Journal a few weeks ago they are expecting a possible drought in southern Nevada causing serious problems - later on this year?????????
Jeff, that was the weather forecaster who said the record was 113. I too think it must be higher than that. It was 112 in Phoenix when we landed there on the way home?
I think the humidity level surprised me most. It was not a dry heat. Humidity was 33 to 52% most tot the time there.
They said that the jet stream had moved and was basically sucking moist air from the gulf. Thus the humidity.
