I've always thought that the Las Vegas Strip hotels on the west side of the street had property that extended all the way back to the freeway and therefore their opportunity to expand was somewhat limited.
In most cases, that "assumption" is correct.
The Mandalay Bay, The Luxor, Excalibur, NY NY, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Caesars, The Mirage, and TI all apear to back up right to I-15 and therefore have no room to expand further west.
Until recently I assumed that the other hotels further to the north also were limited due to I-15 boundaries.
But I have been mistaken........
A couple of days ago, I walked around the area where the Trump Towers was being constructed and discovered a "vast array" of commercial property that was "ripe" for casino development or expansion.
What really surprised me was that the Trump Towers is being built on a piece of property behind the old Stardust that is bounded on the east by commercial businesses that are less than eye-appealing and most definitely an area in which no Trump residents would feel comfortable taking Fido for his morning constitution.
Then I thought .... Mr. Trump is no dummy and must surely have his eye on this run down area for furure expansion and development.
If such is the case, an official announcement has yet to be offered.
If such is not the case, I strongly recommend that those of us with the financial clout to make things happen, take a closer look.
More to follow ....
