I got an offer from Caesars Palace

$59 Sun thru Thursday per night
$159 weekends per night
get an extra free night (3rd night free till April 6)
$50 gourmet dinning credit (not valid Saturday nights)
2 free showroom tickets to "Smokey Joe's Cafe"

The nice part about this offer is they sent along a coupon for the show tickets that can be used even if my plans don't include a Caesars Palace stay on my next trip. The bad news after June 11th , the show ticket coupon turns into a pumkin, it's only worth a Palatium buffet for 2.

Lee,

I think that offer will pretty much go out to their whole active list. I got it too, but Ellen got one for $39/night (her card has gotten more play than mine there).

I also got the CP offer you described above....I wonder if I'll be able to get advance tix in person? They say no advance reservations, but mebbe they mean over the phone? Will be in town early March and would love to pick up tix for our next trip....

Bill,
It never hurts to ask! I intend to use the Caesars show tickets in April, if I can. I'm hoping that doesn't mean day of the show too! with a nine day trip, if i pick them up early in the week there might be some good seats available for say a Wednesday or thursday show.
Please post your findings, as I'm interested in what they have to say.

Lee, if those Caesars offers keep rolling in we may make a convert out of you yet<G>
Although I don't think the bartenders are ready for both you and I at the same time. They need more training for that<G>

John,
I think the bartenders need to loosen up a little at Caesars. The yes sir & no sir gets old quick. Besides everytime they do that, I look to see who they are talking too? <VBG>

Ok, now I know how desparate Steve is to get money to fight the MGM takeover bid. I got this offer in the mail today from the Mirage. Two free nights in a petite suite anytime between May 1 and 31st. If we go May 12-14 (Mother's Day Weekend), we also get a $50 food credit. I have only had a room upgrade once at the Mirage and that was to a large room with a jacuzzi, but it wasn't a suite. As you know I had to set my other room on fire to even get upgraded to that. <vbg> I was especially surprised that this offer is for May, since I thought May was a fairly popular month for Las Vegas visitors. Sure wish I could go.....
Daisy, think you could make a visit to Pa. to mind the store for a few days? <vbg>

Received an offer from the California today.

Some special called the "May Day Getaway":
*3 nights free May 1-2-3.
*Triple Players Gold Club Points while I'm there.

I'm tired of receiving these very limited offers, where your givin a very small window to use the offer. It's hard on the East-Coasters! We see what's being offerd, but can't use them, because most of us plan ahead with airline reservations to get the best price available for tranportation.

John --

You know, it's interesting. I stayed at the Rio for two nights my last trip, with a reservation at the rack rate. I gave them pretty substantial blackjack play and, at the end of my stay, they picked up my room and my meals (three meals for two, including a $225 tab at Fiore). Then, I got home, got one (poor) offer from them, and had written them off.

Now, I'm heading to Vegas on business next week, and I couldn't find a room on the Friday when I'd be in town (St. Patrick's day). So, I decided to call the Rio and see if I could get in, even at regular rates, through Casino Services. Well, I was shocked when they offered me the 3 nights comped, asked me if I needed a pick up at the airport, and wondered aloud if I wanted any meal comps! I mean, what gives?!? I can't figure them out.

Anyway, I decided to book just Friday there, and asked to get the casino rate of $99 for the night (don't want to waste comps when I'm not paying anyway!). The first two days of my stay I'm giving the Venitian a try.

Mark, that is a tough one. I used to stay at the Rio 4-5 times a year. In the beginning they would comp the room and meals. Slowly over about a 3 year period the comps got worse and worse. In Jan 1999 I stayed there for the last time. Since then I have not heard one word from them or received any offers. Linda has her own slot club card and plays next to nothing and she got a poor offer from them this past year. You would think that they would notice the loss of a regular customer that gave them a lot of play but appearantly they don't care.
It's interesting that you had to call them to get the comps offered to you, but then they did offer them along with the food and airport comps. I shows me that they are now noticing the loss of their regualar customers and that they are changing things. They NEVER would have offered those comps a year ago.
In most cases once you lose a customer you have lost them for good. It will be interesting to see what the Rio does in the next year.
Have a great trip and win some money!!

Anybody get any new offers lately? It seems like there's been a slow down on the slot club offers being posted.

I got one for the Venetian for 2 free nights. Of course it cost me $200 lost to the VP machines back in July to get on that free-room list, come to think of it <g>. Now THERE'S a reason to take them up on their offer!

I got the same CP offer as Lee. I also got the LV Hilton offer but at $29/night.
Here are some offers from the Stardust. March - 2 nights plus dinner for two at Toucan Harry's, or Tres Lobos, or Coco Palms (buffet). May - 3 free nights plus free drawing. June - 4 free nights plus $50 cash certificate! Misc - 3 free nights plus tickets to one of their dance band nights which occur at different times from April through November. All these Stardust offers are for tower rooms with no mention of weekend exclusions. These offers are interesting because the last two times I've stayed there, I gave them zero action. (One time I checked in and let a friend use the room while I went somewhere else). This seems to support the NO ACTION IS BETTER THAN A LITTLE ACTION theory - even after checking in on a slot club offer.
The Trop sent a calander with with reduced rates that ranged from FREE to $75 a night. This offer includes two shows including the Folies Bergere. They also invite me to free slot tournaments which include 2 nights free room, welcome banquet, and awards breakfast.

The Caesar's tournament is not a bad offer. According to their numbers, they return an average of $760 per entry in prize money with a minimum return of $200. So if one values the $250 food credit at face value and is willing to risk $750 in a fair tournament (and willing to spend the time involved) with a minimum return of $200, it's like getting the 3 nights room, special gift, and cocktail party, for free. Not for everyone, for sure, but it is a reasonable offer.
