The Peppermill will be under construction for some time to come.....Phase II in their expansion will be completed in spring 2001 and will add another 632 rooms, for a total of 1702, with 318 of those being jacuzzi suites. They are also building an 85,000 sq.ft. Convention Center with a main hall that can seat up to 5000 for banquets or accomodate 400 exhibit booths. The new hotel tower will connect with the new Concert Hall, and there will be 10,000 sq.ft. of new shops. There will be a new Parisian Sidewalk Cafe (beignets, I hope!), and they will offer us boo-fay fans two choices, the main buffet featuring light & action shows or a separate Seafood Buffet. The Coffee Shop will remain open during remodel; there will be 78% more seating (another 39 booths) and an enlarged kitchen with a new Chinese wok station. It's a good thing they are adding a 5 story parking garage<g>.
Phase III (no dates listed) will add another parking garage (4000 total spaces) and another 532 rooms....for a total of 2234 rooms, 430 jacuzzi suites and 8 "Super Suites" ...the Supers are 2-story, 4500 sq.ft. themed suites. This will become the largest hotel complex in northern Nevada.

Wow, Gail.

As you know, I love the Peppermill. In fact, if the casino were in LV, it would definitely be my base of operations. And not just because of the coffee shop <g>. The VP conditions are the best of any place I've ever seen. Other than the lack of cashback, I don't see any negatives about the Peppermill -- great machines in good condition, nice people, good food, plenty of room, and really comfy chairs for my sensitive backside <g>.

Dave, I'm not Gail<g>, but I was thinking of you when I wrote about the plans for the coffee shop. You brought up one thought that concerns me; in all the descriptions I read, there was no mention of increased casino space. Granted, they are going after the convention business but I hope the casino doesn't get crowded to the point we have to wait in line for a machine.

At least I confused you with Gail. Neither one of you can be insulted about that <g>.
