   Windsor Casino
   Windsor Casino
Hi all... Thanks Joe, Lee and Gail for help getting me here!

Hey! I went to Windsor over the Fourth of July and hit a Royal on a VP machine. Paid $4000.00 Canadian. Better news was I had over a 1000 points racked up before hitting the big one. Cashed and headed for the boarder!

Vickie talked me into going back last Sunday. I kind of kicked and fussed, but went over again. I hit a triple diamond twice with two triple diamonds on a double bar and withing a few dollars more, hit a red seven with two triple bars! Took the money and ran!

MGM opened in Detroit this past week. I hear lots of winners, but I will probably stay away for six months to a year to avoid the crowds. This is a temporary casino. Permanent one may take four years and they should be opening two temp. casinos for Circus Circus and Atwater casino.

Detroit has made great strided in area concerning safety, but I still am very careful down there. They have a ways to go.

I will be going out to Vegas probably in the Winter or Spring. Have been real busy and trying to save and get some things paid off and looking into a business. Windsor sure helped speed up the progress, but still have a ways to go.

Well, you will be seeing me around whenever I have some time. I like what I have seen so far (except the junior thing) <g> Take care and talk soon! Kevin in MI

Kevin,
Welcome!!!!
Glad to see you didn't give up on us!
I do think you ought to reconcider not going to the Detroit casinos sooner. We'd all like your thoughts and reflections on the tempory places! You don't have to gamble you know! <VBG>
Congrats on the Royal!!!! That's quite a few loons.

Kevin,
Thanks for the post. I'm heading up that way in about 3 weeks. Trying to decide if we should make the usual stop in Windsor or try the MGM. Were teh crowds small in Windsor or was the new place opened yet when you were there last?

Kevin, glad you made it here and congrats on the Royal!
The site of the MGM casino is interesting; I saw that it's located on the site of a former IRS building. That kind of scares me with the thought that the building is going to get my money one way or another<g>.

Thanks for the responses, sorry I didnt get back sooner... Summere ya know? Crowds at MGM have been as long as seven hours and a small as an hour in the wee hours of the morning. I just do not have the patience to stand in line to gamble.
Crowds are smaller at Windsor, which makes me wonder about three additional casinos in Detroit surviving.
I will get there in about three to six months. Again I have a real problem with waiting. I go inot casinos with a mindset on how I am going to play and take my time selecting a VP or slot machine. I like to dabble a bit with them and see what returns are, before commiting. (obviously not fool proof,) but still like to tinker a bit before starting to put serious money in. and Yeah... I know the feeling of moving and watching a jack pot come in on a seat I warmed and vacated!

Those of you coming in, give me some details. I also would like to know if you are going to be around on the weekend of August 20th. This is the weekend of the Woodward cruise. Thousands of classic cars and about a million spectators line Woodward Fri. and Sat. eve. to look at the cars. Just amazing to see. I have a 1974 Z28 Camaro that I cruise in. It is in the suburbs about 10 miles north from the Ren Cen. Something to see.

Give me some dates and I will see what I can do to try and connect with some of you. If I can offer any help with restaurants or anything, let me know. Detroit is really bouncing back and I am excited for its future. I think we are going to see a positive growth and city will become a safer place.

Sorry I am not jumping into reporting on casino, but I have a real problems with the lines. When the other temporary casinos open and alleviate the overcrowding, I`ll get down ther and let you know what I think. (I`ll probably be griping about cold weather by then) <g> Kevin in Mi.

NP Kevin!
I also agree, I won't wait in line to loose my money. Also, why (or what) reason would a casino that has people waiting to get in, have decent payback on thier machines? I mean, the sooner you run through the persons bank roll, the soone you can start working on geting the next guys bank roll in line!
Plus, if you've been going to Windsor for awile, I'm sure you have "the lay of the land" so to speak. You know, a favorite machine, a nice bartender friend, or just the feeling of comfort, by not having to be crammed into a casino looking for an open machine.

Lee,
They are running about 1,000 people an hour through, because of the size of the place by law they are only allowed 4,200 people in at a time.

Kevin, Glad you made it on the board! I never go to the new casinos because of the crowds. But everyone always tells me that's when the machines are loosest.

Maybe we can get a TalkVegas meet together whenever you get out here next. Let us know when you decide on your next trip.

Hope you stick around with us here. Enjoy your notes!

Kevin, glad to see you here. There was an article in the local paper recently about how Detroit was making a comeback like Cleveland did. That 74 Camaro sounds like a winner. I almost bought a 68 GTO convertible last month. Linda said if I bought it I would have to live in it. So, there's no GTO in my garage.
