Casino officials refused to comment, but the new MGM casino in Detroit turned over $866,666 in taxes to local and state governments from its first three days of gambling operations, indicating that the casino took in 4.8 million during that time.
According to Reuters, the MGM pays 18% in wagering taxes, with 8.1% ($390,000) going to the Michigan state treasury, and the other 9.9% ($476,666) going to the city of Detroit.
My guess Daisy, is that is what the Casino's had to agree apon to get it passed the goverment so they could operate. I can't see Las Vegas having that high of a rate. But it would be interesting to know what LV's rate is!

jm, Loretta Just got back from the MGM. Her and her girlfriend played for more than 2 hours on $20 each, and she came home $40 ahead. She valet parked said the service was great. Join the Directors Club when you arrive, it's used to track your table play as well as the slot play. On the slots you get 1 point for every $5 and on VP 1 point for every $8 of play. I was just told by Loretta that she'll never go to windsor again. P.S. the Majestic Lions are there.
Larry, don't know about FF w/AA, but notice you live in Detroit area. Did you see today's paper? You can get FF miles with NW through Farmer Jacks. Have to sign 1 point for every $ spent at the market. If you have both cards, can sign up on internet through Farmerjack.com
Said offer good for at least 2 yrs! at that rate, should have a couple free tickets a year on food alone!

Lee, I can reload in seconds and Larry bought lots of extra clips at the gun shows. And, we found out that I can get my gun out in two seconds when a very big angry driver is after me. Loretta
Larry, reminds me of a trip in Vegas shortly after Two Pock Chakur (or whatever his name was) was shot. News broadcasted that it was only his car and him that was hit. Talked to cab driver who said they had holes made in walls of MGM that went through, right were people were playing slots.
Will, you have a good question, but I don't know the answer. Since the casino is in a former IRS building, maybe they have a chute that siphons off some for Uncle Sam?
