Lee Ann's AC Adventure

My AC adventure started last Monday as Michael dropped me off to meet the bus for Atlantic City. I was one of the last people to board at the last stop the bus would make before heading on to Atlantic City. Since it had been a long time since I took the bus to AC, I asked the driver if I could sit anywhere. He grabbed my ticket and gruffly said that did I see the number 17 on my ticket? I told him yes, and he said that's where I should sit. The last time we took the bus, you could sit anywhere. Anywhere except in a regular riders lucky seat, as I found out years ago, when I was practically beaten because I didn't get out of an older lady's seat quickly enough.<vbg> The driver gets on the bus, and using a microphone, (like he needed one), tells us welcome and to feel free to sit anywhere we wanted to. So much for seat 17. <vbg> Luckily I slept for most of the trip, and before I knew it we were there. As I got off the bus, I decided to be nice to the rude bus driver and tell him that I would not be returning on the bus, since Michael would be joining me later. He tried to give me the bag of another passenger who was also staying overnight. I told him it wasn't my bag, but the bag of the lady sitting behind me with her son. He said, "So two of you won't be coming back on the bus, and here's your bag". Again I told him it was just me, and that the bag wasn't mine, but belonged to the lady and her son who were also staying overnight. After we played this game about 6 times, I got tired and told him if he couldn't understand what I was trying to tell him, I gave up. I collected my cash back coupon and headed into the Sands.
I cashed in my coupon and was given $16 in quarters. No other option. Not wanting to carry around all those quarters, I decided to try my luck playing some video poker. It took about 5 minutes to lose the $16 plus another $10. I decided I better head over to Bally's to try to find Veronica and Teri. I found V, and found out her luck was running as bad as mine to that point. We found Teri, and headed to Pickle's for lunch. We met up with Tom and the four of us enjoyed a great lunch, and well as great company.
After lunch, Tom left us and Teri, V and I decided to play at Bally's. We all lost, so we went to the Claridge. After trying 2 machines, I found the 9/6 machines that Dave told me about and hit 2 four of a kinds, and I was thrilled to leave the Claridge with $10 more than I went in with. V and I found Teri, and I loaned her my lucky charm, and she got a four of a kind.
We went back to Bally's to play and we lost. At one point V and I were playing nickle machines, one nickle at a time. Does that tell you how bad our luck was?
Finally, Michael arrived and it was time for dinner. We got comps for Pickle's and we weren't disappointed with the food again. The company was great too. After we lost some more, we said goodnight to V and Teri, we headed down to the Taj, and of course you all know how that turned out. <vbg>
Even though we lost, we had a great time visiting with Talk Vegas friends, and look forward to doing it again soon. Now, I must go look for my lucky four aces charm which has been missing. That must be why my luck was so bad this trip. <vbg> Lee Ann

Lee Ann, With the exception of some great company, it doesn't sound like a fun trip at all. But I guess it's better then getting your gums scraped! LOL Thanks for the report! See you in a couple! ------------------ Lee-PA Moderator, What's New Forum lee@talkvegas.com

Jeff and Lee, Yes, I sure had bad luck, but the company more than made up for it. I still say it's because I lost my four aces charm. <vbg>
Veronica, Thanks for driving all that way to meet us. Yes, playing nickels was fun. <vbg> Look at the big profit you made. <vbg> The four aces charm is still MIA. I must continue my search. I put it away in a "safe" place so I wouldn't lose it, and now I can't remember where I put it. <vbg>
Gail, As Beth said, we are going to hold you to the promise of a trip back east.
Dick, Yes, I could have been the owner of someone else's bag. <vbg> I explained the story to him so many times, and he still insisted on giving me the bag, and that I was in a party of two. I finally just gave up. He was probably looking for me when it was time for the bus to return home. <vbg> I think it's a good thing that I slept for most of the trip. <vbg>
