I promised Daisy I would post a report on the riverboat in Indiana. The boat opened last November across the river from Louisville. It is about 30 minutes from my house, which has proved dangerous.

I have been on many riverboats, and this is the nicest there is. Also the largest. There are four decks, and of course it has the glitz and glamour that you would expect of a Caesar's property.

It is still in the startup phases, but they are in the process of building a pavillion and hotel. The temporary boarding facilities are not bad, but you have to take a shuttle from the parking garage.

The video poker is mostly 8/5, which is not real good, but there are a large assortment of machines. There is one bank that has a progressive jackpot and when it gets over $2,000, it is hard to find a spot.

The dealers and pit personnel are friendly and comps are easy to come by. Sit down and start to play, and they will immediately give you a deli comp. Currently there is a buffet and food court in the pavillion, but I am sure when the new pavillion is complete there will be more choices.

Paid for the first cruise and have not paid for one since. Just call VIP and they will have tickets waiting for you.

Have just started receiving offer's in the mail. They do have jackpot winner party's and special events during the week. Have given away several cars since opening. Steve won a jackpot in April and we were invited to the Thunder Over Louisville party which is a big event for the KY Derby. I won $2500 on a keno machine a few weeks ago and we are invited to a party this Thursday. The main draw is a trip to Caesar's in LV. Sure would love to win that.

They are not well received here in Louisville, due to Churchill Downs. There are negative stories in the paper every week. So sad the CD has to share a piece of the pie now.

If anyone plans on visiting, please let me know and I will provide more details. A true fun place to visit.

Doye, Thanks for the review on Caesar's riverboat. Some one of these days, I'd like to do some more traveling and will have to visit all these new casinos. Would also like to attend the KY Derby someday. Kill two birds with one stone, eh?

Doye, thank you for posting the Caesars info! I have only been on the boats down in Louisiana, but I can't believe that Caesars charge you for the cruise! Comps aside, how much do they charge the poor innocent first-timer for the pleasure of losing money?

My sister lives in Louisville and loves the Caesar river boat. They no longer drive to Rising sun evensvill or any of the other Area riverboats Just go to Caesars. I have not been to visit here since Caesars opened but she said free boarding passes are easy to come by and the food and food comps are great. Hope to visit her soon but we are meeting in vegas in Oct. so it will be a while

As for going to churchhill downs, it is a great place. Just don't try to go derby week hotel rooms and resertaunts prices go out of site and the crowd is unreal. I worked there many years ago and unless you like wall to wall people don't go derby week.

Hi Doye, it was great to talk to you last night. I'm sure glad you are that close to the casino and not me, I'd be in the poor house by now.

Gail, Daisy, Billie & Kizzie - Thanks for reading my report. I sure have missed writing these.

Gail - If you ever make it to Louisville, I will be your official tour guide. The derby and the events surrounding are way too crowded for me. Haven't been since my 20's. But I sure would be your tour guide if you came.

Daisy - All riverboats I have been on charge an admission except in Illinois. The charge is around $3-$7 per person. Since I am now "VIP" status I don't pay.

Billie - You are right. It is a dangerous situation. It was nice talking to you last night also.
