Michael, Mom and I enjoyed to wonderful comped dinner at Casa Nicola at the Taj this week. Casa Nicola is one of their gourmet restaurants along with the Safari Steakhouse and Sheharazade(sp?). Tom Law made the reservations for us arranged for the comp meal to make up for the treatment we received from one of their slot hosts in August. When we arrived we were escorted to a table in a quiet corner which faced the ocean. Even though it was dark outside, I could still see the waves rolling in on the beach. It really was a pretty sight. The servers were very attentive without being intrusive. After we each enjoyed a drink including a Bombay Sapphire Gin for Michael, I had an appetizer of buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes and roasted peppers and Michael had asparagus puree soup. Mom and Michael had arugula and wild mushroom salads. For our entree Mom and I had veal shank. The portion was huge and it was so tender that it fell off the bone and could be cut with a fork. Michael had salmon with crabmeat. For dessert Mom had a chocolate cake and Michael and I had lemon custard with ice cream. The whole meal was excellent and I would not hesitate to eat there again.
