Got a few offers for Atlantic City while I was away in LV....

Resorts, free show tickets to see Joe Piscopo, in a swinging tribute to big band music (anything for a buck catagory I guess)

Trop, $35 room offer and some lame coupons.

Bally's 2 nites for $49 (all weekdays)

Lee: I only play at Bally's so they continue to send invites to this and that, bingo, etc., and some birthday bash in the ballroom with free room for 2 nights last month. Problem: I was in LV during the time the November b-day bash was scheduled so couldn't take advantage. Do you happen to know if a b-day bash is scheduled every month? If it is, that's a pretty nice gesture.

Next AC trip I am going to try to play for awhile at Caesars and see if that generates any offers from them. I don't think they are as easy with the free rooms as Bally's, and IMO the rooms in Bally's tower are very nice, but only so-so in the old Caesars tower. However, the new Caesars tower that is closest to the Boardwalk has very nice rooms.

With Park Place Entertainment taking over Caesars soon, maybe things will loosen up with comps at Caesars AC. Would it be too much to hope that once Park Place takes over, that Bally's regulars will get Caesars invites?

V,
I think your dreaming on the Bally people getting Caesars invites! LOL
They almost have to keep them as seprate offerings or they'll loose the market they just bought into. Bally's will not rise to Caesars.....Caesars will fall to Bally's. M2C

I've had the privlage (read lost a great deal of money) to stay in some of the Caesars suites already, and was very impressed with everything. <S> But I paid way too much for that room! LOL

Sandy gets invites to some differnt parties in AC for her birthday, but I don't know if Bally's is one of them?

Received a special rate of $19/night from Harrahs in AC today for Jan. 3-6. Rate is $29 from Jan. 10 through Jan. 31st. Haven't played at Harrahs since we had the meet in February of last year. Guess it's time to return at those rates.

Anybody know what some of the casino rates are on weekends in AC? In the past, I have gotten what is quoted as the casino rate at Bally's for $50, which is pretty darn reasonable.

Bally's Park Place monthly offer arrived, right on schedule. It's slightly different this time because it offers 1 free night either January 2, 2000 OR Sunday-Friday, January 9-31, 2000. What they don't tell you is that January 1's room rate is probably $1,800 a night or something along those lines--right now.

In our local paper today there was an article stating that about half the casino/ hotels in AC have room availability for NYE. The AC Hilton, Tropicana, Claridge, Bally's Park Place, Resorts, and Trump Marina all have available rooms. At Trump Marina, a $3,000 rate covers two people for two nights and includes a dinner dance, brunch, and complimentary robe and slippers [oh boy!]. At Resorts, the two-night rate is $1,500 and includes tickets to the Spinners, flowers, champagne, and souvenirs. The lowest rate for a one-night stay is $1,200 at Tropicana with no amenities included.

V,
I got the same postcard in the mail today and I also have 25 chances. <vbg> Very interesting is that Michael didn't get this postcard and he has been getting offers from Bally's and I have not. Guess I must be really lucky to get such a great offer. <vbg>

Lee: Nope, I haven't either, but would like a report! My understanding is that room comps are easy to get there. Although, it seems room comps are easy to get pretty much in all the AC hotels.

I think Tom O. stays at the Trop, btw. Maybe he can post a review.

HI LEE.
I have stayed at the TROP many times and have been satified with their rooms. The West Tower are the newest the North Tower is just as nice and closer to the Casino.
I like their restaurant for Breakfast.
They have a good Comedy Stop. Small, cosy and a lot of Fun.
I find the Crap table personnel able and very accomadating I think you will like the TROP.

Hi Lee, we stayed at the Tropicana AC a couple of years ago and it was pretty nice, though we prefer (purely hotel-wise) Harrah's. Avoid the buffet at the Tropicana, it is not very good.

Tom O,
Thanks for the information! I can't recall seeing your nick here (lately at least). Nice to see you posting!
My guess is I'm going to need multible dates as they probably won't be very easy to get over weekends.
We've never played table games of any kind at the trop, only VP. I may have a few other questions after I make my reservation.

Cathy,
As for buffets go, don't worry, I hate almost all of them. the other few (very few) are just OK.

Got a Caesars Atlantic City offer today! This is a first...it must have come from the small amount of play I gave em in December--maybe 1 hour tops on mostly quarter, but some 50-cent VP machines.

The offer includes: A complimentary stay Monday through Thursday, now through March 23, 2000. Offer excludes holidays, special events, 1/16, 1/30, and 2/20.

Lee,
Michael and I have stayed at the Tropicana several times and the rooms are fine. It is pretty easy to get a room offer from them, but food comps seem to be pretty hard to get.
Let me know what weekend is good for a TalkVegas Atlantic City meet and I'll set it up.
