Heads up!
Southwest is offering some very good rates for flights to and from Reno, from most cities they serve.

We've got a trip planned to S. Lake Tahoe in June but already have the airfare puchased. $160 out of OKC on American via Priceline.

Doug,
I stil think that is pretty good rate. I always find Reno rates higher from the east.
Another hint to eastcoast travelers that have a hard time getting to use the FF miles to Vegas. I find Reno very easy to get FF flights too.

Reno's always been fairly high for airfares. It's a pretty small airport. I was encouraged when Vanguard announced it would start service to Reno and also announced some real competitive fares. Then the city of Reno backed out on some kind of deal it had cut with Vanguard and Vanguard dropped them like a hot stone.

When Vanguard announced service to Reno, the compititon dropped their rates (imagine that?). This was about the time we jumped in.
