I heard on the news something about a shooting at Harrah's in Laughlin. Does anyone know any details about this?

Two motorcycle gangs having a fire fight in Harrahs. I think that (hopefully) this sort of thing would be difficult to occur in Vegas due to the large crowds - and they are back. Wendell

Looks like Harrah's got the whole thing on video tape. Even has one guy getting popped in the head with a bullet. Hells Angles & Mongols, rival motorcycle gangs are not getting along.

In a realted story, they have found one biker wearing gang colors, dead on the side of the road, with shell casings in the street. They estimate time of death to be about 45 min. before all heck broke out in Harrah's Laughlin.

This is normally a peaceful event and a big draw for Laughlin. Where room rates, triple for the event in a town where they are known for rooms normally under $30 a night.
However bikers are a thrifty lot, and generally are not the big gambler buget type, as a whole. But the bikers do like to drink! <S>

This is the second shooting death in a Harrah's property. A while back a woman was shot & killed in Harrah's LV by a stray bullet from a robber.

Remember, also, that a woman was killed and husband seriously injured(quite recently) while waiting for a car pickup from valet at Harrah's in Atlantic City. Maybe it's time to rethink ever gambling in a Harrah's casino. Extremely bad luck seems to plague Harrah's casinos.

Beth,
I think the outbreak of recent violence at Harrah's Laughlin, could have probably broke out at any one of the casinos in Laughlin.
The only bad luck at Harrahs is the poor paytables on the VP machines! <S>

I've never had any luck at Harrah's EVER - Las Vegas, New Orleans, Joliet, and East Chicago - never, ever!

Hmmm, let me get this right, Harrah's is bad luck, Harrah's has poor machines, WE don't seem to win at Harrah's. BUT we all go back, and that falls true for me also. confused laugh

Hmmm ...I've had good luck at Harrah's. Right now, I only play at Harrah's Tahoe ...they have a bank of fullpay MultiPlay machines that have been generous with quads, including deuces. smile

I agree that the violence could have happened at any of the Laughlin casinos ...along with the tragedy goes an amazing stupidity to start a battle under 24/7 cameras.....should be slam dunk convictions, and I'm hope Nevada will throw away the key to the cell.

Daisy,
I saw your post about the bank of fullpay mult-play machines. Does Harrah's Tahoe have fpdw in that bank? smile
I had heard that the fpdw had been removed several months ago. confused

I will personally check out those machines at Harrah's at the end of the month. smile It's probably been six months since I was there, but they had full-pay DW, DB and JOB ...and one or two other games I can't remember<g>. At that time, those were the only FPDW I could find at Tahoe.

Cajun & Larry ....gunfire at Harrah's Las Vegas couldn't possibly hit a full pay poker machine anywhere on the premises. :p

More tragic news at Harrah's ....a dead newborn baby was found today in a second floor restroom at Harrah's Tahoe.

When I read stuff like this, it makes me wonder if the end of the world is coming soon.

I agree that this type of thing could happen at any hotel/casino. I beleive that Harrahs is just having a string of bad luck. I wonder what thier insurance company thinks?

I don't see how all this bad press could be helping Harrahs or the gaming industry in general. Why is it Harrahs seems to be having so many bad things happening inside thier properties?

A person has to wonder why this is happening at Harrah's. Could it be a lax in security? I would hate to think that security there is not as good as other casinos. I doubt that though. Maybe just coincidence?
