Park Place Entertainment has announced that it plans to close the Ocean I Pier Mall in Atlantic City. It is planning to renovate and create a junior version of the Caesars Forum Shops Mall of LV. A spokesperson said this will not just be a new paint job. We'll see!!

Many casinos are trying to take steps to compete with the new Borgata when it opens at the marina. However, from what I've seen so far, most are not making many changes that benefit the customers.

Just today Harrah's in A.C. opened the new hotel expansion that was a $200 million project.

This past Tuesday, Tropicana Hotel/Casino broke ground for a $225 million expansion to be completed in 2003. You can see how the others are scramblin' to be competitive. For years. most casinos in A.C. sat on their duffs; now they're all in a big hurry to compete with the opening of the Borgata.
