I've been watching the weather in the Grand Canyon area recently and it seems that it gets quite cool at night. During the day the temp is in the high 80's and at night it goes down to the low 40's. Is this correct?? It seems like quite a temperature variation.

We'll be there soon so please comment so I know if we should bring some warm clothes. Thanks.

Yes....It can get quite chilly at the Grand Canyon at night, even in the Summer months.

The average elevation of the south rim is around 6,800 feet. The average elevation of the north rim is about 8,000 feet.
