   Casino Niagara
   Casino Niagara
Hello to everyone.
First post here but I have noticed the odd comment about Casino niagara and thought why not explain some points about this casino for anyone considering a visit.
It is located right across the Peace Bridge connecting Niagara falls USA and Niagara falls Canada. There is valet parking and a 5 or 6 storey parking structure that they charge anywhere from $8 to $15 to park. Ridiculous isn't it. There are 3 floors of gambling and the centre floor or second floor if you prefer is non smoking.
The lower floor has a Hard rock cafe and a small food court. There are mostly quarter machines here. The slot machines run from nickels to $100.
Most nickel machines are on the second non smoking floor and they are the usual video machines. There is a high limit vip room with BJ, Roulette, Baccaret. Minimum bets start at $100.
In the main casino there are six crap tables 2x odds only. Lots of blackjack, Carribean stud, let it ride, three card poker, pai gow, baccaret, war, spanish 21. At peak periods ( weekends and holidays) most tables are minimum $25
You would be hard pressed to find $5 tables at any time and the norm is $15. There is a buffet with dinner at $18.00 and the selection is fair. There also is a more upscale restaurant called "21". This casino is very popular with american gamblers as the exchange is approximately $1.50 Cdn for $1.00 American. There are a lot of people from Ohio who make the trip and of course people from across the bridge. There is a megabucks jackpot which is connected with Casino Rama in Northern Ontario and Casino Windsor near Detroit. It has been hit 4 times with the largest payout of 5.5 million Cdn to an elderly woman from america. Story goes that she was playing one coin and the woman next to her told her she cannot win the jackpot without playing maximum coins. Of course thats what she did and hit it shortly afterward. If we are to believe the story the woman upon getting paid thanked everyone including the patron who told her what to do and headed out the door. No tip no nothing. I was told this by a slot attendant but who knows. Anyway this casino can be dirty looking at times and the staff are not as friendly as I would like but if New York state gets their casino in Buffalo things might change. Thanks for your time and I enjoy all the posts and comments each day. You all sound like good people.

Redzone,
Welcome to TalkVegas, and thanks for sharing the information with us. My only experiance with Canadian gambling was Windsor and I wasn't impressed enough to make a return trip. Again, their seems to be no place like Vegas. From what you decribed it sounds pretty much like Atlantic City table min..
I noticed you listed Stoney Creek, that's not the one in PA is it, if so, we're almost neighbors! LOL
Again, thanks for sharing and welcome to TalkVegas!

Hi Redzone,

Welcome to the group. Thanks for posting the information.

We also discovered high valet charges at the Canadian casino located in Windsor. The couple with us wanted to leave immediately when they learned of the high cost of valet. I decided to talk with someone to see whether the cost could possibly be as high as people were quoting. Yes, it was! However, they assured me.......since I arrived before noon..........valet would be free plus any tip I chose to give. Is the valet free at Casino Niagara if one arrives before noon?

Hope you'll be a regular poster now that you've broken the ice.

Beth

Hi again and thanks for the welcome.
Lee.. the Stoney Creek I live in is on Canadian soil about 30 minutes west of Niagara Falls. I dont know if that qualify's as neighbors but we certainly can be friends. If I can say, I certainly enjoy all the trip reports and am envious of those like yourself who can go to Vegas more than once per year. The dollar exchange and work commitments do not allow me such luxuries, however living vicariously through the reports keep me going until my turn comes.

Beth... Strangely enough the valet parking is cheaper than self park but we do not use it as the wait for your car usually is very long.
We have a players card and do not pay to park in either case so I can't say if it is cheaper at any specific time of day.
I did forget to mention that the comp structure is $50. for every thousand points accumulated. I am not a heavy gambler and usually play table games and the wife plays quarter slots and they give us $200. per month comp to be used at any of the restaurants or gift shop. This is on top of any points accumulated.

Thanks again for the welcome and I will jump in once in a while when I feel the urge.

Welcome, neighbor! I've been to Stoney Creek as my cousins used to live there before moving over Burlington. Casino Niagra wasn't there the last time I visited, so I think I need to go visit them again<vbg>.
