   Palace Station
   Palace Station
We are considering staying at Palace Station in May. Does anyone have any information about the courtyard rooms and the pool? Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Caesars7,
I had a friend visit us in Las Vegas about 3 years ago and this is where he stayed. He wasn't choosy on his hotel, because he was looking for a vacation and not glitz. It worked out fine for him. I remember the room, being a long walk from the casino and while it was very clean, you could tell it was used hard.
He even had an upgrade certificate, and only rememberd it after he checked in and was settled in the courtroom. He never used it.

I'd guess it all depends on what your looking for in an LV vacation. As a guy, I find I can do without a great many of the little luxuaries, that my wife seems to love! I don't need turn down service, I don't need chocolates on my pillow, or 4 differnt kinds of soap, or hand cream, or even a wet bar.
What I need is a clean, comfortable room, where I can get some rest for the next day and shower off the days grime.
If the later, is what you looking for, you'll be fine.

Keep in mind, the Palace Station is very far from the "Strip" and requies a car or expensive taxi ride to get there. Driving and parking on the strip gets worse and worse. In other words, if you want to venture beyond the Station, it will cost you every time you so.

I used to stay at the Palace all the time.
Stopped because the VP elsewhere is more playable which in turn leads to better comps without sacrificing.
Stayed in the Garden once. With nice weather it's not bad. It surrounds the pool. The rooms are old, but clean and have only shower stalls. As for transportation, they had constant shuttle service to their other casino and the Strip Mall.

Yes a good shuttle service, which will allow you to get around pretty well. Stations casino's seem to have a great many gimick machines, not the best payers, but for a novice gambler, they can be fun to play, if not profitable. Also low stakes BJ and $5 PiaGow poker can be found here too.
I'd also like to add, that the casino employee's are friendly and patient, when learning a new game too.

If you plan to stay midweek, suggest you ask about an upgrade when checking in. LA Times advertised a Garden room special a while back and we reserved it for a midweek stay. Upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade to a much nicer, closer room in the main hotel. Didn't have to pass the clerk a bill or anything!
